Ace puts his hands on my wrists making me look down at them. I see my hands have blood on them while his hands are clean other than the small tattoos he has on them.
"I need you to not give up on me right now," Ace says as he puts his hand on my face, making me look up at him. "Don't give up on me,amore."
"I won't."
Twenty Two
Right after Aria killed Dante,I took her out of the building along with Leo and then I lit up the building in flames.
I had the driver take all of us back to the house and on the way there, Aria fell asleep in the car. I would expect her to because of how much she has been through in the last ten hours.
But Dante's dead.
Aria killed him and his body is now burnt to ashes along with most of the building.
I carried Aria all the way to my room so that she could rest. Lana made her some soup and said that she would check on her by the end of today.
I'm in my office right now going over some last-minute paperwork.
Every time there is some kind of property damaged, I have to send paperwork to the Sicily Police Department Headquarters. I have the chief in my pocket but that doesn't mean I don't have shit to do for him. I already notified him that I was going to kill someone, Dante. So, I already filled out that paperwork.
The door to my office opens and I look up from my computer and see Leo walk in. His hair is wet, and he is wearing a white tank top with basketball shorts. He probably took a shower when we got back here. It's only been like two hours since we got back to the house.
"What's up?" I ask while looking back at my computer.
"Nothing much. Wanted to see how things were going here while I was with Em."
"Nothing interesting. Just filling out some paperwork for the department."
"For what? I thought you did the paperwork for Dante?" Leo questions.
"There was property damage, so I have to pay some fine for them to take care of that mess," I answer.
"Oh okay. How is Aria?"
I look up at Leo. "Sleeping. She's been through a lot, and she needs to rest and clear her mind."
"She will be okay. She is a strong girl."
I know she is strong.
Nobody needs to tell me this.
My girl is one of the strongest girls in the world.
I envy how strong she is.
"I know. I know Aria is strong," I reply and then take my hands off the keyboard and lean back into my chair. "How are Emma and Alexander?"
"Good. Emma is a little exhausted because of Alexander."
"Take some time off to be with them. Emma needs you," I tell Leo.
He needs to be with his family and not worry so much about me and the business. I can handle this and since this Dante situation is over, I don't need Leo as much so he can go and be with his family. He needs to be there for Emma.
"Don't you need help with some stuff?"
"I just really needed you for this Dante shit. But now he is handled so now I have to focus on getting Aria back."
