Cassie rolled her eyes, “You two are so predictable sometimes.” Elise sighed, “Don’t even say it, EJ.” EJ reasoned, “Elise, we are at war. The no Guards on girls’ night is temporarily suspended. I’m not going to send an army, but we will need to make sure you guys are safe.”
EJ took his mate in his arms saying, “I am FULLY aware you all can take care of yourselves; however, the point of these nights is for you guys to relax. That includes Melanie. I’m guessing neither she nor her friends were relaxed. Which includesour cousin's mate, who is Alexander’s Beta Female, and our brother’s mate, Valentina. They all deserve to be able to relax.”
Sierra snorted, “Melanie didn’t know the meaning of the word until she met her Xander.” Tristan snorted, “To be fair, she’s always been a busy little thing. We couldn’t get Ladybug to ever take a beat.” I laughed.
My mom asked, “Take a beat? She dances all the damn time.” Tristan smiled saying, “That’s true. I meant to say rest. My sister would never rest.” My mom sighed, “This fucking realm and its damn sayings.” I couldn’t help but smile.
Elise sighed, “I agree with the Guards coming, but only temporarily. We will go back to our regular girl’s night with no guards once this is all resolved.” EJ nodded agreeing, “Eventually, yes.” We began to plan what we were going to do to up our security.
I was upping our training sessions and increasing our border patrol. Gage said, “I’ve got a tentative thought on that already. Phil and I were busy bees.” Abigail purred at him, “You’re so sexy when you’re going all Gamma male.” Gage tilted her head in for a kiss.
Yellow Hills called next because Emmett and Malachi were furious. Blue Moon called too, and Finn was irate. Which was always odd since he was a lot like his dad. It was always mildly weird and concerning when either Dylan, or Finn, were ready to throw down and fight in an angry way.
I couldn’t blame them though. We all felt useless and unprepared. If something like this could happen, with drugs that we couldn’t even SMELL… what else could happen despite our vigilance? Oden said, “Well, with mate on our side we’ve got the best shot we’ve ever had.” That was true.
After several hours of re-working everything I went upstairs to sleep beside Melanie. I brought Drake with me since Sam had been in there when I left. Sam had fallen asleep right alongsideMelanie. My father in law gently picked his wife up. I popped them to their room here and then popped back to Melanie’s side.
When I woke up, I was surprised to find Melanie beside me. I smiled and waited for her to wake up. My mate yawned a few moments later. I rolled on top of her greeting, “Good morning.” Melanie replied, “Good morning, Xander. What are you doing?” I kissed her and pulled back.
I whispered in her ear, “Showing you what happens when we actually wake up together before I have to go on my run.” I kissed her neck and sucked on her mark. My fiancée shivered beneath me and moaned. I snapped her naked and slid my hand down the front of her body.
I gently palmed Melanie’s breast and slid my thumb across her nipple. I continued down her body and slid my finger inside her. My mate gripped my arm and gasped. I chuckled, “You’re so wet for me, Lovebug.” Her hips jerked under me.
I smirked as I slowly slid my finger in and out. Melanie tried to increase my pace, but I wasn’t having that. Right before she came, I slid my finger out. My mate whimpered in protest until I lined us up and slid into her.
Melanie whispered, “Xander.” I thrust gently into her. Towards the end I went onto my palms and sped up. Melanie gripped my arms and shuddered, and I groaned her name, “Mel.” Then emptied myself into her as her walls clamped around me.
My mate eventually came back to herself. Melanie looked at me admitting, “I understand your case.” I laughed, “Good.” I leaned down and kissed her. I looked at the clock, “I’ve got to get to my run.” Melanie nodded and I slowly pulled out of her.
To my surprise, she just laid there. I asked, “Are you staying in bed?” Melanie shrugged, “For a little bit.” I laughed, “I could run you a bath.” Melanie gasped, “I… really? I haven’t had a bath in… gosh… I don’t even know.”
I snapped my fingers and told her, “Your bath awaits whenever you are ready.” Melanie laughed, “You are too much.” My mate got onto her knees and kissed me. My hands instantly went to her sides. I groaned, “I mean, who needs to run? You’re just too tempting.”
EJ linked me, “Are you coming to run, little brother? Our cousins want to see you.” I sighed, “But I guess they are waiting for me.” Melanie laughed, “I have a bath to get to anyway.” I kissed her again before saying, “I’ll see you later.”
I popped outside and shifted. I easily beat everyone and was waiting with clothes on when they got back. Max snorted, “Ok, this whole you get to be lightning fast because your mate is the white wolf thing is bullshit. Let’s all just say it.” I laughed, “I didn’t make up the rules on this, little brother.”
My cousin, Hugo, clapped me on the back. Hugo told me, “I will have to start doing cardio with you, Alexander. I sense there is a challenge to beat you now.” I laughed, “It’s not a challenge, cousin.” Hastein laughed, “Oh, but it is.”
Gabe commented, “I was filled in, and I must say I want to meet your mate’s friends. To me it sounded like she’s just the key to people getting their mates.” I snorted, “Come on inside.” Louis and Hugo both punched me in both my arms.
I asked, “What the hell?” Gabe snorted, “I don’t get a text from you? After hearing about this girl for such a long time, I don’t get a ‘hey man, I met her and she’s mine. So, you were right.’ text?! Is that too much to ask?”
Hastein wryly said, “Apparently it is.” I snorted, “It’s been one thing after another with my mate.” Hugo said, “I blame literally everyone else. All you assholes couldn’t tell any of us that he found her. Even though you knew we knew he met his mate because we SHARE A BOND. Hell, I’d have come home for a ‘Hey, Alexander popped his cherry with his dream girl’ text.” I rolled my eyes.
We walked into our main office and found Dalton already sitting there. I raised an eyebrow. He shrugged, “Paige is here with the brew so Melanie can be in Red Run without vomiting all over the place. Our pack doctor was VERY worried about her. He wanted to come here and see her. Dakota and I had to explain that would not go over well with Ladybug.”
I snorted, “Technically speaking Melanie is Ethan’s patient. So, I agree with your assessment. Though, Ethan would probably understand.” Louis asked, “So, Melanie’s busy? Is that what we are saying? Because I would like to meet the woman. It’s only fair after all the listening I’ve done about her.”
I laughed, “You guys will meet her.” Melanie and Paige walked in second later. Gabe skipped over to her and put out his hand, “I’m Gabe Cambridge and I hear you bring all the mates around. I would very much like to cash in on that. Also, you are just as gorgeous as my cousin said you were.” I growled at him.
Melanie blushed, “Umm… I… well I did know you were Gabe… so… about the mate’s thing… ummm… you… my… that’s….” Hastein snorted, “You broke her, brother.” I walked over and kissed Melanie.
My mate looked at me and said, “I do know a few people.” Paige snorted. I told Melanie, “My mom and Elise are probably waiting for you. I want to have your Luna Ceremony this week.” Melanie frowned, “So, does that mean we can’t have our mating ceremony this weekend?” Someone spit out their coffee.
I told her, “If that’s what you want, then that’s what we will do. My mom can plan things very quickly and she loves planning any type of party.” Melanie smiled saying, “Ok. I’ll just go find my mom and then yours. We can all plan stuff today… I guess… or do we have other plans? Because that’s fine… I could…” I kissed her again.
When I pulled back, I told her, “Go plan.” Paige looked at Dalton saying, “Consider me busy.” Dalton nodded, “Plan away.”My mate walked out with his and Dalton muttered, “Feel free to catch the Mating Ceremony soon bug.” I snorted, “How long does Paige want to plan?”
