Cassie smiled greeting, “Oh hey, Melanie. I was just chatting with Elise before her next meeting.” I smiled saying, “That’s nice.” I walked over by her and grabbed a banana, slid my hand into her pocket and lifted her phone. I hummed, “See you guys later.”

I took off back to my room and opened my soon to be sister in law’s phone as a text came in. I told them, “I got her phone before she got the ultimatum to come to them.” Sierra asked, “What are you going to do?” I answered, “Ummm… Call people… for reasons.”

I grabbed my sniper phone and called Xander, but he didn’t answer. Freya offered, “I can tell Oden to contact us.” I said, “Uhh no… the universe clearly didn’t want him to answer.” Freyalaughed. I called Cayden next, but he didn’t answer. Micah didn’t either.

I cringed and called Corbin and not even he answered…. but I left a message. “I’m on it. I’ll bring her back… it’s fine… I’m basically there… so… don’t be too… ok you’re going to be mad… but maybe not so mad…. because I’ve got this.” I hung up.

Sierra asked, “Why would they kidnap the woman Corbin makes out with?” I explained, “I think she’s his mate. They probably don’t know that… but they probably know she’s his source…. which I’d imagine… she is for something.”

I ordered, “Valentina, shimmer us to my place in Nashville.” She grabbed my hand, and we left. I grabbed some black clothes and masks. Valentina got ready too. So, I guess it was her in my vision and not Kingsley.

That didn’t make sense though… because Valentina and Kingsley weren’t really the same body type. I shook that off. Obviously, I misread the vision. How the HELL did this group get Tenley? I didn’t have to get her location since I had it. They’d texted it to Cassie.

I found how they got Tenley though… they’d sent her a text… as Cassie. Seriously?! They’d sent Corbin’s probable mate, who I discovered was Blaise, a text that looked like it was from Corbin. I hit the keyboard, “They didn't call them because of Patricia! UGH!”

Valentina frowned, “Huh?” I sighed, “Patricia leaked it to the Supernatural Council that the Fairies had worked out a way to hear the voice of who was calling… unless it was distorted. Tenley nor Blaise would’ve believed Cassie or Corbin was calling them with a distorted voice… but a text… GOSH DARN IT PATRICIA!” I grabbed Valentina and put my mask on. I ordered, “Let’s go. Si, get back.”

Valentina shimmered us there with my motorcycle. We took a step and Valentina was thrown backwards. I ran to her. Myfriend gasped for air, stating the obvious, “I’m warded out.” I cringed, “I know who isn’t. Go shimmer to Kingsley and bring her back.”

Valentina snorted, “Yeah, they definitely didn’t ward out whatever she is. They never do.” I nodded, “I know.” Because they wouldn't have thought there was a Dragon around. Valentina shimmered out and back with Kingsley.

Kingsley commented, “I was about to make my way through here. I’ve got a situation I need to deal with tonight, but then I was on my way through. I must say I’m intrigued by your message. We have some catching up to do. You’re with your Xander which means I don’t have to set him on fire. That’s nice.”

I snorted, “I’ll come with you tonight and back you up and we can somewhat catch up. Are you staying in Tennessee? Say yes… please.” Then I’d get Hastein to be around…..even if I had to tie him down not to change his schedule…he’d forgive me once he met Kingsley. Freya laughed.

Kingsley replied, “I’ll be back after I get some more information you asked for. My tips are leading me to Missouri. So that’s where I’ll be.” I groaned, “Of course they do. Is this about the Vampire compulsion stuff?” Kingsley nodded. I wanted to throw things.

Valentina handed Kingsley an extra mask. Valentina said, “I’ll wait for you guys here.” Kingsley nodded, “I do need to get back. What if we need to split up?” I answered, “You get back to Valentina, and I’ll get out another way.”

Kingsley asked, “What way is that?” I answered, “My bike… or if all else fails… Tenley.” Valentina gasped, “If she opens a portal, you’ll be in the Hackura realm.” I agreed, “Yes… I could probably wait for a portal to open and dive out of…. but…. we’d all be able to come out to our mates my way.”

Kingsley laughed, “That’s what you want to do then.” I nodded, “Kind of. It’s hard for everyone. This way… it came outin a natural way… and we saved people. Who can be mad?” Kingsley snorted, “Plenty of people. Let’s go.”

I grumbled, “Or they could not be mad and just say thank you….that’s an option.” Kingsley and I walked through the barrier no problem. I pushed my motorcycle along with us. Kingsley said, “I’m more of a roof girl myself.”

I pointed to the window saying, “I’ll break it through… you come in afterwards.” Kingsley nodded, “Why do I feel like you already knew that was happening?” I snorted, “I have visions now… So, I’ve seen us do this.” Kingsley smirked saying, “I have so much to catch up on.” I agreed, “Yup.”

Kingsley winked and jogged over closer to the building, jumped, and landed silently on the roof. It was so handy being a Dragon. She could basically fly in human form. My phone was ringing. Oh… so now someone decided to check their phones.

I pulled out mine and saw that Xander was calling me on my regular phone… and Cayden was calling my other phone. Sorry guys. I turned them off and gunned my bike. It occurred to me exactly who was on the conference call I’d seen. The guys…. at their meeting. Great.

Freya laughed, “Your sarcasm gets me.” That was good… since she was stuck with me for centuries. I broke through the glass with ease. I jumped off the bike and hit the first guy I saw. Kingsley came in next. She could burn people with her hands and literally melted people’s heads off.

I tackled Tenley’s chair to the ground and kicked Blaise’s over as someone began to shoot at us. I rolled and returned fire. Kingsley shouted, “We need to move!” I inhaled wondering what she smelled. Freya told me, “Someone set the place on fire.” Tenley started to cry.

The window we’d come in through was no longer an option. I asked Blaise, “Has Tenley been drugged?” Blaise nodded, “Idon’t have my powers either.” I gaped at her realizing what she was. She was a partial Witch and Fairy.

I asked, “Do they know what you are?” Blaze whispered, “Just the Witch part. I didn’t even know there was another thing until I met Corbin.” I nodded. I told Kingsley, “Go out the south corridor. We will take the north.” Fire couldn’t hurt Kingsley. She smirked and took off.

I pulled out some adrenaline with the Hackura serum for the Night Queen Plant antidote. I whispered, “I’m sorry Tenley… but I need you to open a portal.” I injected her with it and she gasped. I picked up my bike. I ordered, “Get on.” Blaise put Tenley between us, and I took off as the room was engulfed.

I needed fifteen seconds so I drove us in the direction that wasn’t on fire. I could hear a bomb ticking down. OH, COME ON! FIRE AND A BOMB! Freya said, “That is annoying.” Right?! Have these people not heard of overkill?

I yelled, “Tenley, open a portal.” Tenley replied, “I can’t.” I looked at my watch counting down. When it hit zero, I told her, “You can now!” Tenley’s hands moved off me. I turned my head and saw Kingsley on the outside. I was glad she’d made it even thought she’d have been fine inside.

I heard the explosions going off. Come on Tenley. I began to look for alternative ways out, but there weren’t any. It all came down to Tenley. Or going through some fire and another window. That was my new plan. I just prayed that one worked. I was NOT dying in a fire. That much I knew.
