“Give us a second, Ross.”
She took my hand and me across and open space toward a corral where a horse was frolicking. We stared at the black stallion for a moment before she spoke.
“I want you around, Mack.” She told me. “I’m ready.”
Leaning over, I kissed her shoulder. “Okay.”
“Okay?”
I nodded. “I guess we’re getting puppies.”
Jager cheered!

“Montana said you needed a little help.”Sadie McClain said when I opened the door. She held up a fancy looking bag. “I come baring gifts.”
I arched my brow. This woman was like a goddess to the world, and she was standing at my door, grinning happily at me.
“Um—gifts?” I asked.
“Yeah.” She turned to look at me. “You said you were worried you didn’t have anything for a fancy date.”
“Right—like this is normal.” I bit my bottom lip.
“Aww, come on, Jager.” Sadie sighed. “I’ve tried so hard for people to just treat me like a normal person.”
“But you’re not normal.” I told her. “I don’t mean anything by it, but people are always going to be star-struck by you. It’s not always a bad thing.”
“I guess—” Sadie sighed.
“I just didn’t expect you to come to my rescue.”
“Well, I heard you needed a little boost.” Sadie told me simply.
“This is kind of embarrassing.” I admitted.
“Listen, you’re a part of this family now, sister.” Sadie explained, while setting the bag on the center table and opening it. “We take care of our own. Now, from what I know, your man is coming to get you in an hour.”
I giggled.
Sadie laughed. “Go shower. I’ll have everything set out by the time you’re out. Have you eaten?”
“Too nervous.” I replied. “But I’ll eat when we go out. Make yourself at home.”
Sadie nodded and I left her to shower.
My shower took a while—I had to take care of my legs, arm pits and other places that needed to be groomed. When I was finished, I lathered my skin with lotion then wrapped a towel around my body. I stopped to look at myself in the mirror.
I’d removed my braids and my hair was now up in an afro. I took time to add products in it, to keep the moisture in. When I was finished, I made my way out to Sadie who had a dress lying on my bed.
“Um—where is the rest of it?” I asked.
She grinned. “I have it on high authority that Mack is very much a skin man. So, legs, bare shoulders—trust me.”
Blushing, I found the right underwear and a matching strapless bra. When I slid the dress on, it hugged my curves. It was different than anything I’d ever worn, and I wouldn’t wear it for any other occasion. But I wanted to be sexy for Mack. I wanted him to have moments when he was the envy of most of the men in a room.
Blushing again, I sat on the bed and accepted Sadie’s help to latch the straps to the heels she’d brought to lend me. They weren’t too high—mercifully—and when I stood, they worked. When I looked at myself in the full-length mirror, I had been transformed.
