She’s swaying on her feet like a drunk calf, and I know if Jesse weren’t bracing her, she’d be flat on the floor. Cute, but not exactly safe.
“Alright, show’s over,” I say, scooping her up before either of these assholes can argue.
She lets out this little squeak, tries to protest, but her arms loop around my neck anyway. That’s what I thought.
Jesse smirks. “Look at you, playing knight in shining armor.”
“Knight?” I snort. “More like the guy who knows she’ll faceplant if we don’t put her down somewhere soft.”
I lay her down on the bed gently, not that I’ll admit to the gentle part out loud. She curls onto her side, messy hair half covering her face. Christ, she looks wrecked and angelic at the same time. I don’t even know how that’s possible.
Leo sits on the edge of the bed, brushing hair off her cheek like he’s made of patience. Jesse drops down on the other side, kissing her shoulder, muttering against her skin about how perfect she is. And me? I tug the blanket up over her, making sure she’s covered.
She blinks up at us, eyes heavy.
“Don’t… leave,” she whispers, barely there.
That one lands in my chest as a damn sucker punch.
“We’re not going anywhere, sweetheart,” I murmur, tucking the blanket tighter around her. “You’re stuck with us.”
Leo nods, serious as ever. Jesse grins wide as a man who just got away with murder. I lean on the mattress beside her, pretending it’s all casual, as if I’m just too lazy to move. But the truth is… I’m not going anywhere either.
Her breathing slows, soft and even. Out cold. Finally at peace.
I glance at the guys over her, a smirk tugging at my mouth. “Well, congrats, boys. We officially fucked her unconscious.”
Leo shoots me a look, Jesse laughs into the pillow, and I chuckle low in my chest. Because hell, it’s true.
And as her hand sneaks out from under the blanket to grab mine, even in her sleep, I don’t pull away. Not this time.
She’s breathing softly, hand still locked in mine. She’s making damn sure I don’t pull one of my famous disappearing acts. Normally, I’d hate being pinned down like that. But right now? I don’t mind at all.
Truth is… that was the best night of my entire damn life. Didn’t see it coming. I’ve never shared before. Hell, I don’t share fries, much less a woman.
But the way it went down? The way she gave herself over to us, the way we all fit around her. Shit. It wasn’t just hot. It was right.
I glance over her head at Jesse, who’s still grinning, the smug bastard he is, and then at Leo, who’s sitting up against the headboard, ever the composed saint even though I know he’s as wrecked as the rest of us.
“Well, that was new,” I mutter, low enough not to wake Liv.
Jesse snorts. “New? Try life-changing.”
Leo’s quiet a beat before he says, steady as stone, “I’d do it again. No hesitation.”
That pulls a crooked smile out of me. “Guess we’re all on the same page, then. Cause I don’t know about you two, but one night? Not nearly enough.”
For once, nobody argues. No competition, no bullshit. Just agreement.
The room’s heavy with it. This is the unspoken thing that none of us expected. And for once, I don’t feel the urge to break the tension with some dumb joke.
Instead, I glance down at her. She’s wrecked, soft, beautiful. Ours.
“Alright,” I finally say, clearing my throat. “If we’re serious, and don’t look at me like that, Leo, I am serious, then we don’t just drag her into bed again. We do this right. Show her we mean it.”
Jesse raises a brow. “What are you suggesting, Madden?”
I grin. “We ask her on a date. An actual one. Flowers, dinner, the whole nine yards. We wine and dine her like the lady she is. Prove it’s not just about the sex.”
