I frowned. “I wouldn’t say crazy, but it was a rollercoaster ride, especially for me.”
He tilted his head and eyed me. “Oh yeah? How so?”
I told him how I’d changed since I met him. “You couldn’t pay me to let a man take care of me the way you’ve been doing. I probably would’ve kept my friends in my life, knowing they frowned upon certain things I didn’t. You changed me for the better, Melijah.”
He got up and sat on the couch with me. “Nah, you did that on your own. I guess I was the push you needed to do it. I’m happy to have given you the push you needed. I love you, Eli.”
