I beamed, wanting to kiss him. He knew just what to say to make me feel good about myself. I stared down at my pjs and smirked, happy I decided to wear them. Normally, I didn’t wear pjs to bed, but I bought a purple and white two-piece set. I loved them at first sight and couldn’t bring myself to turn them away. To know that he loved them made me happy that I’d worn them.
“Thanks! What’s in the bag?”
Melijah upheld the bag in his hand and smirked. “It’s the steak and egg croissants you couldn’t eat during our first meet-up. Hopefully, with the nausea gone, you’ll be able to eat it now.”
That was so sweet of him to do. “Thanks so much!” I walked back into his arms and leaned up to kiss his lips.
Melijah ran his hands down my body and stopped at the top of my ass. He might as well have gone all the way, so I took matters into my own hands. I reached behind me and took hold of his wrists and dragged his hands down to grab my ass. He groaned and gripped a handful of both cheeks. I gasped in his mouth, and he slipped his tongue inside mine. I sucked on it, wanting to take the kiss to another level, especially with the way he was kneading my buns. His hands fueled a fire inside of me that burned out of control.
He pulled back and huffed. “Shit. We gotta stop.”
I pouted and licked my lips, still tasting him on my tongue. “Why?”
He nodded. “You already know why. What did I tell you before? I want to go on at least one date before we take it to the next level. We did everything backward, so now, let’s get it right. Speaking of dates, what do you say to us going on one later this evening?”
I had to stop myself from jumping up and down. “I’m down with that.”
“Good.” He continued walking toward the kitchen. “Let’s go eat.”
I followed behind him.
“After we eat, what do you want to do?” I inquired, taking a seat on the stool at the island.
Melijah poured two glasses of orange juice and shrugged. “It’s whatever you want to do. If you don’t mind, I’d just like to spend the day with you and our bun in the oven. If you want, we can nap all day.”
I giggled. “Is that your way of saying that’s what you want to do?”
He smiled. “Maybe. But nah, if you want to watch movies or read, I’m down for whatever.”
I lifted a brow. “Read? Do you read?”
He screwed his face up while walking toward the island. “Hell no, but you can read to me.”
I chuckled. “Okay, cool. We can do that before we go on our first date.”
As much as I wanted to squeal, I held it in.
Melijah set the drinks on the island before taking a seat next to me, retrieving the bag, and taking out the croissants. My mouth watered as soon as the aroma of them hit my nose. He took two out and slid them to me. He then took out two for himself.
“What kind did you get?” I asked, reaching for the croissants.
“Ham and cheese with egg.”
I nodded and bowed my head to say grace before I dug into my sandwich. The first bite had me throwing my head back and moaning. I had to go back in for another bite just as quickly as I bit the first one. This was what I missed, the taste of real food. I was sick and tired of eating soup.
“Slow down. It’s not going anywhere,” Melijah stated, causing me to stop chewing.
I snapped my neck in his direction and narrowed my eyes. He threw his hands up and laughed.
“I’m having déjà vu.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “I bet you are.”
Those were the first words he had spoken to me when we met at Skylar’s party.
We ate in silence, and I tried to slow down my eating, but that was hard to do. It was too damn good. By the time I finished eating, Melijah was just opening his other sandwich. It wasn’tmy fault he ate slowly. I reached for my juice and drained the glass. I was ready for a nap now. It never failed. Whenever I ate, I’d get sleepy.
After Melijah finished eating, we went upstairs to my bedroom. He took his shirt off, and my mouth watered for a lick of his tattoo-covered body. I grabbed my phone off the pillow and got into bed. He slid in after me, and I sat up against the headboard, and he laid his head on my thighs. He lifted my shirt and kissed my stomach before he caressed it.
