I turned my head to my phone that was on the kitchen table.Let me call him and see. Before I could make my way to the phone, it rang. I retrieved the phone and saw Melijah’s name on the screen. With a smile, I answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Wassup? How are you?”

I took a seat at the kitchen table. “I’m good. Just waking up. What about you?”

“Damn! You’re just waking up at eleven o’clock? You must’ve been tired.”

I nodded as if he could see me. “Yeah, I was. Now I’m trying to see what I can eat. The nausea pill is working.”

“That’s wassup. I’m glad to hear it. Do you have plans for today besides getting something to eat?”

I arched a brow. “No. I never have anything planned on the weekends.

“Word. If you want to get out of the house for a while, do you mind meeting me somewhere?”

As much as I wanted to scream hell yeah, I played it cool, not showing how excited I really was. “Yes, that’s fine. Where are we meeting?”

“It’s a small football game going on.”

“Okay, sure. Just send me the location, and I’ll be there. What time does it start?”

Once Melijah gave me the time, we hung up. I needed to get ready. I was looking forward to seeing him. I set the phone back down and went upstairs to my bedroom to get dressed. I ambled to my closet and scanned the many clothes that I had, retrievinga pair of jeans with a black and white graphic t-shirt. I’d be wearing a pair of Jordans too.

Twenty minutes later, I walked out of my house and headed to my vehicle. Once inside, I sent a text to Melijah to let him know I was on the way.

Melijah:

Word. Be careful. Let me know when you pull up. I’ll be in the car waiting for you.

Once I sent him a reply, I set the phone in the cup holder. I backed out of my driveway and headed onto the main road. I turned on my radio and immediately bobbed my head to one of Cardi B’s songs. That was my girl. I had never met her a day in my life, but she was like one of my long-distance best friends. Traffic was light, and the sun shined brightly. I had to retrieve my sunglasses from the rearview mirror and put them on.

When I pulled into the parking lot of the field, it was packed. I retrieved my cell phone and called Melijah to let him know I was here.

“Keep driving around, and you’ll see me. I’m standing in the middle of a parking space.”

I continued to drive around until I saw him. His hair was pulled into a man bun.Damn, he was so fine. My lawd.I had to control my hormones but damn it. Just looking at him made my pussy wet.

I parked, grabbing my purse and phone before I stepped out of my truck. Melijah had a bright smile on his brown-skinned face, making me want to lean over to kiss him.

“From the look on your face, it looks like you’re happy to see me.” I fell into step with him.

He chuckled. “Yeah, you can say that. You look good, too.”

I beamed happily. “I can say the same about you. Your hair looks good.”

“Thanks. My sis did it. She pulled my hair up tight too. I can barely stand it. If it continues to feel like my brain is bleeding, I’m taking it out.”

I snickered with a shake of my head. “You’ll be okay.”

We were able to find a seat on the bleachers. I didn’t know a damn thing about football. Melijah watched with interest as the players knocked each other to the ground.

“Do you like football?” I asked him.

He bobbed his head. “Hell yeah, since I was a little boy. I played in middle and high school. I didn’t finish college, so I didn’t play when I was there.”

I frowned. “Why did you quit?”
