I just couldn’t, and I hated it.
I didn’t love beating up women, I wasn’t that kind of monster, but we had rules to follow, and I looked weak when I didn’t stick to it. My crew were noticing how slack I was on Rory, which was never good.
If they brought it up with Slash, they could overrule me about her and make her disappear.
I’d already thrown Lonnie out for putting her fucking hands all over me without my permission, so it was obvious she needed a lesson.
She was taking the brunt of my frustration, but I didn’t give a fuck about her. Lonnie was nothing but a fuck, a bad one at that, and she had no right to act like she was more important than Rory here.
Crew whores were replaceable.
I shoved her to the floor once I’d locked us in the office, and Slash glared down at her with annoyance.
“I thought you were kicked out?”
Lonnie laughed nervously, knowing she was in trouble. “Uh, I just?—”
“You justnothing,” I spat, forcing myself not to punch her in the fucking face. “I told you not to come back, so what are you doing here?”
“Why isn’t Rory getting yelled at too? She pulled a knife on me!”
“She’s not banned!”
“Since when? Make up your mind, Skeeter. You throw her out every second day at this point. Why? You crawl right back to her like a bitch in heat!”
My foot slammed into her side and she cried out in pain, clutching her ribs as I squatted beside her.
“My business with Rory is none of your concern.”
“Everyone knows she’s got you wrapped around her finger. I know she killed Liam, so why isn’t she being punished? He was a member!” she screamed, my eyes flicking to Slash, who looked pissed. Crew whores weren’t supposed to know about our business, they were only here to fight and fuck.
“Who told you Liam’s dead?” I asked calmly, returning my attention to her.
“I heard you two fighting about it the other night. What’s so special about her?” Frustration filled her eyes as she tried to get up and I shoved her back down again. “Let me up! How can you fall for a girl like her? I’ve been here for ages and I do everything you want. Why didn’t you pick me?”
“You want the list?” I offered, standing at my full height. “You’re annoying. I can’t stand your fucking voice. You’re terrible in bed.” A gasp of offense left her, but I continued. “You’re needy, desperate, and literally everything I hate.”
“How is she any different?”
“Apart from the fact that she’s good in bed? She’d kill for me and my crew.”
“I’d do anything for you and the crew!”
“Prove it,” Slash said firmly, and I had to force myself to keep my expression off my face. The plan was to deal with her and get the guys to clean up the mess, not send her on a mission.
“Anything,” she nodded, scrambling to her feet.
“I need a spy. Do you think you could do that for me?” he asked, and I got a bad feeling about this when he grinned. “We have a little problem that we need information about. You know the Devils, right?”
“Slash,” I warned, but he waved a hand at me dismissively, pissing me off a little.
“Your friend runs it, right?” she asked, glancing at me.
“Call him my friend again and I’ll beat you to a bloody pulp,” I scowled, considering doing it anyway. This bitch was more trouble than she was worth, and whatever plan Slash had was only going to backfire.
She swallowed nervously, her eyes sliding back to Slash. “What do you need?”
“I need you to insert yourself as one of their crew whores temporarily. Report back to me with any information you find. It seems like they’re poking their noses into Ashburn Valley again, and I want to know why,” Slash replied, a sly smile on his lips. “It would really impress me. You’re the only girl I can trust with this task.”
