“Really? Seems like two years ago.”

He pulls me against him and hugs me tight. “It really does. And that’s okay. When you know, you know.”

Chapter 26

Bryson

* * *

Longest day of my life. I have looked at my watch so many times that it’s a wonder the thing even works anymore. I had to ask my employees to repeat themselves more than once during meetings today. I’m so distracted; it’s impossible to focus.

I have texted or called Lillian every hour. I also have called Camden twice to check on her. I’m being the world’s most overbearing Daddy today. So much so that no one would believe this is my first time Daddying a Little girl.

Lillian has been in Little space every time I’ve heard her voice today. Not surprising since she’s with her sister, and the two of them have spent the day playing with toys, coloring, watching cartoons, eating ridiculous nasty foods, and probably giggling.

I’m jealous that I haven’t been there to watch it all. I miss her fiercely, but we’ll get through this stage. We’re in the honeymoon phase. Everything is rosy and exciting. Neither of us wanted to part ways this morning when I dropped her off. We kissed ten more times on Camden’s porch before I finally drove away, and I was ten minutes late for my first meeting.

My guys have been eyeing me suspiciously, smirking. They haven’t come out and asked, but they have to know I’ve met a woman. Lillian won’t be a secret for long.

I hate that I’m not fully on my game when I meet with an important client this afternoon. I can’t cancel on him. I’ve been working on plans for his custom home for months. The foundation has already been poured, and we need to discuss a few changes he’s considering for the first floor blueprint.

I check my messages as soon as I park and glance up to find my client pulling in right behind me.

After hopping down from my truck, I head toward him, hand outstretched. “Carson. How are you?”

He shakes my hand. “Good. Grateful it’s not raining today.”

“Me, too.” I nod toward the property. “Shall we go inside?” I joke. We’re going to step onto the foundation, but the only other part that exists is the downstairs framing. No roof.

He chuckles.

“Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind.” Unlike other clients, I’m not worried about Carson Nolan. He’s not going to suddenly suggest we move the master bedroom downstairs or add a bathroom. I’m certain whatever changes he has in mind are minimal. If not, we’ll deal.

I’ve known Carson for years. He’s a member of Surrender and a stand-up, all-around good guy. He’s also a Daddy Dom.

“I haven’t seen you at the club for a few weeks,” he says as we step onto the concrete porch.

I glance in his direction. “Yeah, I’ve…” I take a breath. There’s no reason to keep my relationship a secret. “I’ve met someone.”

“Oh. Good for you. Are they in the kink community?”

“Yes. Well, she’s new to Seattle and to kink, but yes. We’re still figuring it all out. She’s…” I look at him.

He lifts his brows, grinning. “Purple?” he suggests.

“Little.”

His smile grows. “Huh. That’s awesome. So you’re taking a walk on the Daddy side.”

“I am. Not sure I’m winning at it, but I’m learning.”

“I’m certain you’re doing great. You’re a strong Dominant. You’ll easily shift your focus. She must be special.”

“Very.” When we arrive at a work table, I set my plans on top and look at him again. “In fact, I’ve moved her into my house. Forgive me if I’m not my usual attentive self today. We’re in that stage where I can’t stand not being with her. I’m fucking sappy as hell. I don’t even recognize myself.” I’m also opening myself up to vulnerability, but if there’s anyone outside of Camden or Jameson I would trust with my personal life, it’s Carson.

He stares at me, grinning. “Well, fuck me. You’ve truly got it bad. What’s her name?”
