“But I’m not on birth control. I could get pregnant right away.”

“Good,” he says, as he picks me up and carries me to his car. “I’m ready to start a family with you.”

Epilogue - Tori

Six Months Later

“Are you ready tobecome Mrs. McElroy?” Mace wraps his arms around my pregnant belly. He did, in fact, get me pregnant on Thanksgiving Day. Our little turkey baby is due to be born in a few months.

I didn’t mind whether we were married when our little one arrived, but Mace was very determined that we should be. That’s how I ended up at city hall in a wedding dress from a bridal shop that specializes in maternity wedding gowns called “It’s Not Too Late,” and having Mace’s new/old stepfather, Ted, walk me down the fake aisle.

Nora and Ted reignited their love after she confronted him about Niles’ treatment of me. It seems Ted regretted choosing Niles over Nora and asked for her forgiveness. A week later, they eloped to Vegas and remarried. I hate to think about what they might have missed out on if Nora hadn’t approached Ted after all those wasted years.

“I can’t wait to become your wife.” I wrap my arms around Mace’s neck and pull him close to my lips. “I love you, Mace.”

“I love you, too, Tori. And I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life as your husband.”

My thoughts drift to Niles. I still can’t believe Natalie confronted him, giving him a piece of her mind. It seems she was the only one who could put him in his place all these years. So much so that he has reformed and is actively pursuing her.

One of his steps toward recovery was to apologize to everyone he had hurt with his anger and lies. I was the first person he apologized to. I forgave him instantly, because if it hadn’t been for him, I’m not sure Mace and I would be together. I honestly believe we were both too stubborn to act on our feelings; it took something as crazy as a fake relationship to bring us together.
