“I said, she’s coming,” she yells again.

“We heard you, Jules. The whole damn town did,” Halton grumbles from his corner.

“Okay … well, hide,” she hisses.

“Julia, we’re all crammed into this room for a reason. Just don’t let her come in here.”

“Right, okay. Hush. See you soon.” She slams the door, and I hear her feet pitter-pattering down the hallway.

“Think she’s going to like it?” Preston asks, patting me on the shoulder.

“Never know with her.” I chuckle.

“What the freaking hell?”

“That was Lexi,” Preston says in a panic.

I swallow so hard it makes an audible gulp sound.

“Sure was.”Maybe this was a mistake. One little mistake. Again.

“Easton! Beast!” she screams just before the door swings open.

Lexi stands in the doorway in a robe I know they got at the spa. I know because I planned out every minute of this day.

“Out.” She stands to the side of the door, her finger pointing wildly at all my brothers.

They each grimace in their own way, then hurry out the door.

“What are you doing?”

“Calm down, Lexi.”

“Mistake number four hundred and six. Don’t ever tell me to calm down. It only pisses me off more.”

Her insistence that we were a mistake has become a running joke for just about everything in our life.

“Okay, listen. How much do you remember of our wedding night?”

“A whole lot more once Sylvie showed us the video,” she pouts.

Oh yeah, they’ve been sitting on that for a long time.

Crossing the room, I take her hand and lead her to the chair.

“Do you remember what I said to you on the bench?”

She scrunches up her nose while she thinks. It’s become one of my favorite things about her because she has no idea she’s doing it.

“It’s a bit blurry,” she finally concedes.

“I told you that you were going to make a beautiful bride someday. Someday is today.”

“Beast,” she says gently, “we’re already married. This isn’t necessary.”

“Maybe not, but I want to give this to you. I want this for us, for our friends and family. I want everyone to witness our love.”

She purses her lips, and I think she’s going to fight me.
