Even though the lights were off, I had my blinds open and the moonlight, as well as some light from the lampposts around campus, streamed in through the window. I could see the outline of his form and some of his features.

“Okay, why don’t you start off by telling me what’s on your mind?”And what the hell you want.

“You,” he answered, brushing his fingers through his hair and turning toward me. “I can’t get you outta my head, Frosty.”

“Why?” It was the only thing I could say.

None of it made sense—him thinking of me. We’djuststarted talking again, and none of our conversations had ever been flirty. Well, not really. I had let it slip that I maybe wanted to hook up with him, but that was a slip of the tongue. Nothing more.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

Leo moved closer and my heart beat quicker—harder—as his face stopped only inches from mine. “Because you want me, but you haven’t tried to get me,” he answered, still slurring his words. “Why is that? Not like I’m hard to get. You’ve seen all the people I’ve fucked. All you had to do was ask and I’d fuck you, too.”

“Maybe I don’t want that,” I answered, swallowing noisily.

“Bullshit.” Leo shifted his body to where he was hovering over mine, his face so close I could feel his breath tickle my lips. “I know you want me.”

“Just because you have no standards and fuck anyone who shows interest doesnotmean everyone wants you, Leo.” My tone wasn’t as biting as my words. I was only trying to get my point across. Whatever point that might’ve been. Because, damn it all, Ididwant him. “And it’s driving you crazy. Your ego is so large you don’t know how to act when someone rejects you.”

“So you’re rejecting me?” he asked, pressing his body down on mine. Shit. I liked his weight on me. It’d been too long since I’d felt such a thing. “Because your dick says otherwise.”

There was no denying that. The evidence poking into him was irrefutable proof.

“Yes, you’re hot,” I admitted through gritted teeth. “Yes, I’ve thought about fucking you. But unlike you, Leo, I can control myself and don’t always cave to my body’s desires.”

“You should,” he responded before gliding his lips across my jaw, sending chills down my arms. “Denying your body’s desires is unnecessary torture. Why stop what feels natural?”

I couldn’t suppress the soft moan when he moved his lips to my neck, kissing me just below my ear.

“You’re drunk,” I said, grasping at straws. Anything to get him to stop without me having to say the words. Because telling him I wanted him to stop would be a lie. “I don’t want to take advantage of you.”

Which was true. I didn’t want it to be something he’d regret in the morning.

Leo laughed. “You… taking advantage of me? Frosty, I know damn well what I’m doing.” He rolled his hips against me. “And how to do it. So let me.”

Excitement coursed through me. I wanted him. Bad.

But not like this.

“No.” I gripped his upper arms and pushed him back enough to where I could look into his face. “Off.”

He honest to god pouted. “But I want to.” His fingers brushed my cheek as a strange look appeared in his eyes. “You’re not like other people, Saint. When I’m with you, I don’t feel so dirty.”

I didn’t know what exactly he meant by that, and I didn’t get the chance to ask him to clarify. He rolled off me, but didn’t get off my bed. The jerk just moved to the other side of me and cuddled into my spare pillow. His breathing changed after a minute or so, and when I realized he’d fallen asleep, I didn’t have the heart to wake him and tell him to leave.

I raised the blanket and covered him up before fluffing my pillow and settling in, too.

It was definitely not the night I’d envisioned.

Chase Walker led me through the party. By the time we’d arrived at the game room, I’d drank nearly all of my drink, because he’d been stopped several times on the way by various people wanting to talk. It was a reality check.

He was popular. The golden boy with the rich family, countless colleges already wanting him, and more friends than I’d ever have. Yet, he was leading me—arm in arm—through a high school party in front of all those friends.

Maybe I was his friend, too.

The thought made me smile, and I finished off the rest of my drink.

“Want another?” Chase asked, nodding to my empty cup. “I can have Mike get us some more.”
