“To my house.”
“Why?” I questioned.
“Because I’m extremely selfish. And when you’re with me, I want you all to myself.” He glanced over at me seriously before his attention went back to the road.
I didn’t have anything to say back to that. He was completely honest, and it did something to me to know that he felt that way. For the rest of the ride, we allowed the music to do the talking while we were sort of lost in our thoughts. Seeing him the way I had those last few weeks had been a highlight for me. It was like God knew I needed somebody who challenged me, somebody who just wanted to be near me, and it was both exhilarating and scary. I mean, I was damn near creeping on the man I was supposed to love, but I wasn’t. There was no way of hiding it because of the way Taurus carried himself. Even though he knew I had a fiancé, he didn’t give a fuck. I was just so damn afraid because somehow, I had grown attached to him in the time we’d spent together. I mean, I’d literally been at his home and even slept in his bed, and somehow, without the physical aspects, I still found myself getting lost in the feeling he gave me. Taurus and I hadn’t been intimate, but I wanted to. He claimed he wasn’t pushing me and was following my lead, but my hot ass wanted him. The thing was, something in me knew that a few kisses didn’t cross the line, but what I wanted would definitely cross it. I wanted to care, but I didn’t, because Taurus made me feel wanted, not tolerated. He allowed me to be me, and somehow, he had become what I never knew I needed. I just felt so bad about Bash and how it was bound to go down.
“Get out of your head. We’re here. I had Dee make you lemon fried chicken with rice pilaf on the side.” He hopped out beforegiving me a chance to respond. Once he reached my side of the car, he opened the door and waited for me to get out. “I told you I wasn’t eating no more fucking chicken, so I had her make me a porterhouse.”
I mugged him before shaking my head. “Now watch, your body doesn’t know how to digest it because you haven’t been eating red meat.”
He chuckled. “Fuck outta here.” He didn’t take me seriously, but he’d see. When we walked in, his house was cold as usual, but I didn’t complain. Instead, I kicked my heels off and started toward the stairs to his bedroom. I needed to come out of my work clothes and find something to wear. It was odd how comfortable I was at his house, but I hadn’t been to my own fiancé’s home in almost six months. I walked right into his bedroom and threw my overnight bag on his bed before coming out of my shirt and pushing my skirt down. I needed to be free.
It wasn’t long before I heard his footsteps coming up the stairs, but I didn’t rush to put anything on. Instead, I stood there and watched him walk into the room. I basked in watching him admire my frame with a grin.
“Don’t start some shit you can’t handle, Lane,” he warned.
“And what if I can?” I put my hands on my hips and looked at him.
He laughed. “If I get between yo’ legs, baby, I swear—” I walked up on him and put my finger to his lips.
“Show me, baby.” I challenged him with a smirk.
He laughed and picked me up, placing me on the dresser and standing between my legs. He used his hand to tilt my face up and mash his lips into mine. When he pulled back, the look in his eyes was so intense that I knew what was about to come out of his lips next would be serious. “When we cross this line, there ain’t go going back. This shit right here is all that matters.”
I couldn’t speak. All I could do was nod my head because I felt every word he said.
“You hear me, Lane?” he questioned, burying his face in my neck, planting kisses there and along my collarbone.
“Yes, baby. I hear you.” I mustered up before he pulled back and used his free hand to push my lace underwear to the side. He used his thumb to massage and play in my wetness for a while before he replaced it with his index and middle finger. He was trying to drive me crazy with the way he had zeroed in on my clit, forcing me to open my legs wider and give him full access.
“I know you hear what I’m saying, Lane, but I need you to understand what I’m saying because I’m selfish, and I don’t play about mine.”
I nodded my head, unable to speak because he was doing that shit on purpose. He had to be because my lips could no longer form the words to respond to him. Then when they could, he dropped his shorts and rested his thick, long masterpiece at my opening.
“No more excuses, Lane. Tell me this is what you want.” There he was with his serious expression.
“This is what I want. You are what I w?—”
He didn’t give me a chance to finish my sentence before he pushed inside of me. He neglected to give me a warning or any time to prepare myself for what he had in store. He pulled back and then rammed himself inside of me again to get his point across, but I was pretty sure there was no fucking need because he had me. He had me exactly where he wanted me.Shit!
REGANCY
I hated that I thought he and I were on the same page and thatwhatever we were doing was the beginning of something, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t, because he hadn’t hit me up, and he’d also shown up to my bar twice with the female that he was always with. That was my mistake though. I made the stupid mistake of thinking physical attraction and deep conversations meant something more than they were. So whatever ill feelings were all my fault, and I’d be damned if I allowed myself to look or feel crazy over a man that never belonged to me. How sick of me? Anyway, it was the second time he was there with her, and I would treat it like I did the first time, except I didn’t have to be on the floor. I was only there to do a little paperwork, and oddly enough, Vee was coming to get me, and we were going to dinner. He had been back and forth over the last few weeks, each time making time for myself and Kale if she was around. I didn’t know what happened to Vee between the time of my move and getting settled in, but he seemed different and more willing to try. I actually liked that, but then again, I felt somewhat guilty at the fact that I thought about Savior while I was with him. It was what it was though.
I looked away from the camera monitors of the front and back at the paperwork that I needed for my next inventory and liquor order. After I had everything gathered, Vee told me he was outside. Once I had my purse and everything I needed, I exited my office before stopping at the bar to talk to the manager that I’d hired. I let her know that I was leaving moments before I felt his lips at my temple and his hard chest on my shoulder. Even though Vee had nothing on Savior in certain departments, he was still in a league of his own. He was a gentleman and sexy as fuck. He put me in the mind of Lance Gross and Kofi Siriboe. He had the most-beautiful chocolate skin and a body given to him by God Himself. Vee was sculpted and crafted in the stature of nothing but greatness and he knew it too. He was one of thosemy body is my templetypes, and I didn’t disagree.
A smile crossed my face as I inhaled the masculine panty-wetting scent of his cologne. “I thought I was meeting you at your car.”
He gave me a handsome smirk. “I thought I told you that I wanted to see your place.”
I giggled. “You did, but my stomach is rubbing my backbone. I thought I’d bring you here on a Sunday when it’s slower.” I kind of whined while he held my hand.
“That’s what you say, but it’s your world, Reg.”
I kept his hand in mine while I led him toward the exit. I had food on my mind, not some grand tour of the place where I spent all of my time. Once we were outside, he opened my door to climb in his car, and I did. Once the door was closed, I focused on my phone and the incoming call from Kale.
“Yes, baby girl?” I answered.
