“Prague did, but I assure you he was a gentleman. You were sweating and tossing and turning in your sleep. For a while, you had an unbelievable temperature.”

“I need to get back to Sam and the others.”

“The road is flooded. You’ll have to wait until morning.”

Someone knocked on the bedroom door, and then Anthony entered. “Your dinner is ready. I hope you like trout.” Anthony left and closed the door.

“You’re feeding me bear food?” I pulled the sheet from the bed and wrapped up.

“I’m sure he made you a salad as well.”

I stood and walked around the bed, stopping to watch Alexander. “Why’re you looking at me like that?”

“You slept with my brother, didn’t you.”

 “That’s none of your business.”

Alexander left the chair and joined me next to the bed. “I can see why he did. You have stunning beauty.”

“You’re trying to get back at him,” I said shyly, though I enjoyed hearing those words. He seductively slid the back of his hand along my cheek and then held his hand under my chin. I didn’t want to stop him, but I should have.

“It wouldn’t have mattered who found you first. We all want the same thing of you, Liz. I’m sure he asked you to stay with his pack. I will ask you the same.” Alexander slipped his arms around my waist and rested his hands on my ass. Everything about the man was sexy. Based on the gray at his temples, he was the older brother. But age had done nothing adverse to his body as every time he moved, his muscles flexed. His brown eyes were large and shined like chocolate crystals. I noticed several scars on his forearms and traced them with a fingertip.

“You’re making it really hard to say no,” I said softly.

Alexander leaned forward and moved his lips to mine. His kisses were slow, lush, and full of desire. I felt his cock press through his pants. I eased my mouth open, and Alexander’s tongue brushed against mine, the warmth overwhelming. He pulled back. “I can stop if you’d like.” He kissed me again and then let me answer.

“I honestly don’t know what to do. How can any woman be prepared for what’s happened to me the past two days?” I moved to my tiptoes and placed my lips against his, hungrily kissing and licking.

Alexander lifted me into his arms and then laid me on the bed. Everything in my life had become a distant past, and all that mattered was the here and now. He pulled the sheet away and stared down at my body. I wanted him to keep going. Not stop. Not stare. To take what he wanted. To send me into a frenzied orgasm that would keep me in bed the rest of the night. I deserved to get the things I’d been missing in life. But I also deserved to get the revenge I’d been looking for.

He kissed my body slowly, tormenting me, knowing I wanted him inside me. But once again, he waited. He made me wait.

“Alex, we’ve got trouble at the front door.”

I looked across the room to see Anthony standing at the open bedroom door.

“I’ll be right there.” Alexander helped me up. “I’m sure this is about you. Get dressed and meet us in the other room.” He left me alone, and while I dressed, I could hear him and Sam yelling at each other.

Sam was in the living room when I left the bedroom. He was dressed in a suit and shiny black shoes.

“You were supposed to be in town filing those papers. I see you got sidetracked.”

“I don’t like the way you’re speaking to me. I didn’t ask to be brought into your little family spat.” Actually, I did. I grabbed the RV keys from the end table and started out the door. Outside, Rogue, Flux, and Mani waited, the three men also in suits.

Alexander followed me out the door, waving his set of papers. I stopped and turned. “You forget something?”

I grabbed the papers from his hand. The seven men stared at me. I’d had sex with four of them and almost with a fifth. What was I thinking? “I’ll be back tomorrow,” I said angrily. “I’m filing the fucking papers, and you’ll just have to accept whatever the hell happens.”

The RV splashed through mud puddles and bounced around all over the road. That was just fine by me as long as I was away from all the drama. Men were no different than women when it came to drama. It had followed Sam and Alexander like a dark cloud for three hundred years. Twenty minutes later, I hit the highway and found peace.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to tell anyone. A shifter story would have me committed. The story of sleeping with four men, three simultaneously, would send my girlfriends into spasms. No, the best thing for me to do was to keep the weekend to myself. Although, if I did decide to stay with either group of men, I would have to have a story prepared. The silver lining was that I could stop hiding my past. I could finally move on and finally return to the woods and away from city life.

I glanced at the two sets of papers next to me. Both men had tried to put one over on the woman who had not accidentally fallen into their grasps. Maybe I had another option. Instead of going straight home to change, I made a beeline to the office.

I’d spent all night pouring over the papers, trying to figure out my next move. I absolutely believed Sam and Alexander’s father wanted them to share the land. But the two brothers had let greed divide them. So, I dropped the papers off at the courthouse, had them certified and filed, just like I had been asked . . . but with a few minor changes.
