“Of all the things, that’swhat has you blushing?”
Dropping his face into the crook of my neck, he groans, the stubble on his jaw sending a little zing of electricity through me.
“It’s too good. I can’t help it.”
“I love hearing how I make you feel.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, right now, you’re making me hard again,” he whispers, his teeth nipping the skin down the column of my throat, “and I love being in love with you.”
Kissing his way across my jaw, he doesn’t stop until his lips land on mine, his movements unhurried as he tastes me.
Savors me.
“I love you,” I murmur, my breath hitching when his lips curve up into a smile.
“I can’t believe I almost missed out on this.”
“I’m glad you didn’t.”
“We had all this time but I didn’t need it.”
“Didn’t need it for what?”
“To fall for you.”
“No?”
“No, I think I only ever needed one night.”
EPILOGUE
JESSE
DECEMBER
Wintervale is bustling with tourists and locals, the winter market in full swing as vendors line each side of the street. This is always my favorite time of year, but right now, it’s so much more.
Adrian moved in with me a week after we becameofficial, his stuff fitting perfectly with mine as if he’d always been there.
Always belonged.
Now, his hand is clasped with mine as we wander around, waiting for my father to make the announcement. Tonight is full of celebrations and new beginnings—my first Christmas with Adrian, the farm, and witnessing Harlan propose to Reid.
There wasn’t a dry eye to be seen, mine included, and I’d never seen my cousin so happy.
“What are you thinking about?” Adrian asks, his eyes as bright as his smile.
“Tonight. Reid and Harlan and being here with you. It’s perfect.”
“You promised me cookies by the fire,” he purrs, my face heating at the thought because I’d promisednakedcookies by the fire.
And now is definitely not that time.
“We can leave right after the announcement,” I promise, his gaze raking over me like a physical caress.
