“Snyder said we should probably pack our stuff. That the cops would more than likely show up with a search warrant and ransack the place.”

Snyder entered the room a moment later, a look of relief washing over his face the second he saw me. “Finally!” he exclaimed, motioning for me to follow him.

A few of my brothers gave me strange looks as I passed by, they all kept staring at me like I was some goddamn ghost.

 “What’s going on?”

“The cops showed up and took Wasp. They haven’t charged him with anything, but they are heavily questioning him. It’s got me worried, so I’m trying to get everyone to pack their shit so we can bounce if we need to.”

“You’re acting out of fear, Snyder. Take a deep breath. The cops don’t have anything on Wasp. You know it and I know it. Sabbath is the one who killed Nina, it’s his fault.”

“But he’s not here to go down for it, Clash. Someone has to take the fall, and their pointing fingers at Wasp.”

“They won’t pin him with anything.”

“How can you be so sure?”

 “I just am.”

He shook his head, not convinced. “Where the fuck have you been, anyway?”

 “It’s not your business.”

“You’re a part of this club, Clash. With everything going on with the Crows, everything is my goddamn business. So, where the fuck have you been?”

“Away… thinking…” I said, walking over to the window so I could look outside. The moon was high in the sky, reminding me of my time with Gina at the lake. It only made me want to return to her and try for more.

“Well, your goddamn thinking is making everyone suspicious of you. Knock that shit off. I need you here. If we don’t flee, then we’re going to need to go on full lockdown. No one leaves. Not even you.”

Fuck, I didn’t need this shit right now. Not when I felt like Gina and Alex were in trouble.

“Snyder, I got shit I got to do outside of the club.”

“I don’t fucking care, Clash. From this moment on, nobody fucking leaves. Not until we know this shit with Wasp and the cops is over.”

“Fuck!” I growled, kicking over his trash can. “Why do we all have to be punished for shit Sabbath did?”

“Are you or are you not a Lewd Outlaw?”

Pointing to my cut, I glared. “You can very well see I am.”

“Then you know, that if one of our brothers goes down, we all go down. Wasp needs us right now, Clash. All of us. We’re still picking up the pieces and cleaning up Sabbath’s messes. It’s all part of the process. But as my VP, I need you by my side,Brother. I need us to have a united front, just in case things go south.”

Crossing my arms, I said nothing, just stared at him in awkward silence.

“Say something!” he ordered. There was a sadness in his eyes that I couldn’t quite understand. He had everything in the world going for him right now, so the last thing he should look is depressed. He moved across the room, then grabbed me by the shoulders, forcing me to look at him.

 “What happened to us?”

“You know the answer to that question,” I responded.

“And you’re still jealous? Get over yourself, man! It happened. It’s over. She’s mine! The quicker you realize that, the better off we’ll all be.”

I shoved him away, my glare intensifying. “I’m not jealous that you won her heart, Snyder. I’m jealous of what you have. Why do you get a happy ending, huh? It’s like you’ve been blessed with good luck running through your veins. I’m over the fact that Gina didn’t want me. I’m happy for you both. I’m just envious of what you two share. That’s all.”

 “Who the fuck is Gina?”

Shit! Did I really say her name out loud?
