“I meant Shasta.”

Yeah, he didn’t fucking believe me, but he didn’t ask anymore questions either, because we were interrupted by Ranger rushing inside the room.

“Wasp is on his way back!” he breathed out. “They couldn’t pin anything on him, so they let him go. But he also said the cops are now watching us. What do we do? We can’t have the cops sniffing around while we’re in this war with the Crows. What if another box shows up? What if we didn’t get rid of them all back at the warehouse, or a camera caught us there?”

Snyder and I shared a look before he answered, “I already had Danger hack into every security system within a mile radius of the warehouse and erase any videos that could incriminate us. As for the body parts, that’s just something we’ll have to deal with if it comes. As for everything else, for right now, the whole club is going to go on lockdown. I want everyone to bunker down for a few days until this shit boils over. If the cops don’t see us coming and going, they won’t have anything to go on.”

“Or they’ll be suspicious because we’re staying here and not leaving,” I argued.

“You’re not going anywhere, Clash. I already told you that. A lockdown is a lockdown. And you’re still a part of this club, which means you keep your fucking ass here at the clubhouse. You got me?”

My mouth ticked. “Yeah, Prez. I got you.”

“Good. Let the rest of the club know. We’re gonna stop this shit before it gets even more out of hand.”

Ranger quickly left the room, leaving me alone with Snyder again.

A silence passed between us before he sighed. “Clash, I want you to know that you can talk to me if something is going on. Something is off with you, and I know you’re hiding something. I just hope it’s not something that you can’t come back from.”

“Nothing’s going on, Snyder. Just drop it, okay?”

He shrugged. “Fine. Go with Ranger and let the members and sweet butts know that no one leaves. I’m going to call Shasta and have her head this way. I want her here with us.”

I had people I needed to get here too. But I knew if I brought them here, it would only scare her away. I just had to hope she’d be okay for a few days until all this crap with the cops blew over.

“You can go now, Clash. We’re done talking for now,” Snyder stated, picking up his phone to call his girl.

“Sure, Prez. Whatever you say.”

Tiffany was waiting for me the moment I left Snyder’s office. She had tears in her eyes, and before I could react, she launched herself at me, curling into my arms.

“Oh, Clash. Everyone has been so worried about you. Where have you been?”

She didn’t feel like Gina. She felt wrong—a mistake waiting to happen. It took a lot of manhandling to pry her off my body, but I finally did, pushing her away.

“I’m fine, Tiffany.”

Her lip quivered. “Do you not like me anymore? I thought I was your favorite girl?”

Shrugging, I took a step back. “I’m over it. Nothing here entices me anymore—not like it used to.”

“Are you with someone else?”

“No.”

“Then what is it? Why won’t you touch me anymore?”

“Because I’m over used, worn-out pussy. It just doesn’t excite me anymore.”

“Fuck you, Clash,” she screamed, slapping me. It didn’t hurt or shock me. I’d been slapped so many times it was like my cheek absorbed that shit.

“No thanks.” Moving past her, I stopped when I saw Wasp standing in the doorway, taking the little exchange in.

“You okay, Brother?” I asked him, putting distance between me and Tiffany.

“Sure. Are you?”

“I’m fine.”
