"Where do you want this?" Cy asked.
"Just inside the door please. I’ll put it all away myself. Do you have some scissors?" I asked. That one got a few confused looks but they didn’t question me.
"I'm on it," Jackson said before he headed towards the kitchen.
Cy and Griff laid the boxes where I pointed and headed out to grab more.
"Wait, I want something of yours in here. Jackson's bringing R2-D2," I told them.
"You got it, Peach," Cy agreed, Giff nodding along.
They came back, Griff with an old jersey that was so well worn I could barely read the name, and Cy with a stuffed bear.
“My first Jersey,” Griff explained, looking down at the tattered jersey like it was made of gold. I took it carefully and tucked it between pillows where it wouldn’t be disturbed.
“This bear I won myself. It was after our first win,” he said with a grin. “There was a carnival in town and it felt symbolic so I kept it around.
“It’s perfect,” I promised, finding the place for it.
They left me long enough to grab the rest, stepping in to help open up the packages and getting rid of the trash.
Everything was new and I needed more of their scents. Apparently, pre-heat me was bossy as hell.
“Roll around now, get those pink blankets extra good, they smell like the store,” I ordered. They listened, doing as I asked with grins on their faces.
Finally, I nodded my head. “I think it’s ready.”
“Good, because we need a talk,” Griff said. He was serious now and I swallowed hard, glancing his way.
Were they having second thoughts?
As if reading my mind, Jackson pulled me into his lap, stroking my hair. “It’s about what you want during heat, nothing bad.”
“What limits do you have with sex, Dani?” Griff asked. It was blunt, but I appreciated that they wanted to be prepared.
“I don’t like feeling trapped when I’m in heat,” I admitted. “I’m open to new things, though. I don’t have a ton of experience.”
“Alright, we can work with that,” Cy said. “What about when you want us all? Is anything off limits? Because I’ve had some dreams about that ass, peach.”
“Now the nickname makes sense,” I snorted. “I’m not… against it. Just go easy on me, be gentle.”
“Always,” he promised, leaning forward and kissing me. I could feel his reassurance in the bond. It was nice when it was wide open, letting them see parts of me that would normally be hidden. I kept it locked down during games but otherwise I was trying more to let them in.
“Fuck,” I cursed as I doubled over, a cramp hitting me. “I think it’s here.”
Our Omega was so independent that sometimes it would be easy to forget she was an omega. When alphas are raised, most of us hear how we should coddle and spoil our omegas. With Dani, we spoil her, but she also takes care of herself and wants space for her career and not just wanting to rely on us.
It was an adjustment, but an easy one. We just needed her close to us, to protect her.
Dani in preheat was something very different, entirely. She didn’t hesitate to tell us what she needed as she set up her nest, even letting us give her our things to represent us as well.
It made it feel less disconnected. We’d had too many games and work conflicts getting between us. If not for our nights together I’d lose my mind.
It was still early days, and I knew I had to give our pack some slack. We all had careers, different paths, and we were still working on combining our lives.
I wanted nothing more than to steal our omega away to our apartment, but I couldn’t exactly do that. Dani was sweet and soft right now, even a little vulnerable. I loved this side of her just as much as her sassy side.
She was still arranging the little pieces of ourselves that she’d demanded we bring her. It was adorable watching her move around and change it, getting flustered when it wasn’t just right.
