Zaya laughed. “Naw, he’s outside leaning against his car.”

“Ok.” I took one last look in the mirror, and nodded.

“Have a nice night,” Zaya called as I strode out of the bedroom and down the stairs.

“Will Mr. Eaves be bringing you back this evening?” Reginald asked at the door. “Or shall I have a car on standby?”

“I think he’s bringing me back.”

“Very well.”

He opened the door, and I saw Corey leaning against his little car.

Corey smiled at me as soon as our eyes met, and there was the tiniest flutter of happiness in my middle.

“Ready?” he asked as I stopped beside the car.

I nodded. “Care to tell me what the plan is?”

He grinned. “Tonight the city is hosting a movie in the park.”

“A movie in the park?”

“Yep,” he chirped. “No pressure. Some people go on dates, lots of friend groups and families. I’ve got a blanket to spread on the ground and there’s a selection of food trucks for dinner.”

A smile spread over my face. Part of me had been worried when he asked to pick the place, but no pressure was right.

Corey had obviously picked someplace without romantic overtones, and I appreciated his consideration of my needs.

Another flutter of something inside as he turned around in the driveway.

Chapter 15 - Corey

Aweek had passed since that first date in the park, and, to an extent, everything was the same. I still woke up aching and horny, and Nate still joined me on Tiny’s walks.

At the same time, everything was different. Nate wasn’t guarded around me anymore. We’d been on several dates in the intervening week. He smiled brightly at me each morning, and had even held my hand while walking on Saturday.

My fingers tingled at the memory of his skin against mine for so long. There was no doubt that the mating urge was still strong, but tempered by proximity. It seemed that as long as my body felt we were headed in the right direction it was content to not push the issue by driving me into a heat like what happened with Cody.

Still, a man has needs, and, as hot water coursed over my skin, I took my cock in hand and stroked it slowly—pointedly not thinking about Nate. It wasn’t fair to him to imagine him in that position if he wasn’t comfortable with it in real life. Instead I focused on the sensations of my fingertips sliding along my shaft, the rush of pleasure as I pressed on the bundle of nerves on the underside of the head.

Pent up desire filled in the gaps, and I came quickly, shuddering as my balls emptied. However, it was just enough to take the edge off. My body still craved the touch of my mate.

I quickly dressed and finished my morning routine, then skipped out of the house. I hadn’t seen Nate the day before, and I was eager to be near him again.

“Don’t forget Tiny,” Cody joked as I rushed through his house.

“Of course not,” I called back. “Nate loves playing fetch with him.”

Tiny trotted up and sat while I attached his leash. Then I jumped as Cody hugged me from behind.

“What was that for?” I asked.

“You’re happier than I’ve ever seen you,” he replied. “And I always thought you were the happiest person alive. I like seeing it and hope some of it will rub off.”

I laughed and turned to hug him back. “You’re happy too, you just show it in a different way.”

He sighed against me. “Maybe, but I’m still gonna hope some of yours rubs off.”
