He smiled. “But you’re the pretty one.”

“That just means that the odds are better,” I replied. “If you’re gorgeous and I’m pretty, then she’ll at least be good-looking.”

He chuckled. “Silly alpha.”

“Did you two have any questions?” the doctor asked, a smile in her voice.

I shook my head. “Theo?”

“Any other changes I should be on the lookout for between now and my next appointment?” he asked.

She shook her head. “Not really. If you haven’t yet, you’ll probably feel your baby start moving. But the rest of your pregnancy symptoms shouldn’t change much over the next few weeks.”

“Thanks,” he said.

“Of course,” the doctor replied. “I’ll have them make some prints for you, then you can schedule your next appointment up front.”

With that she stood and left the room.

“A girl…” Theo said, wonder on his face. “We’re having a girl.”

I leaned in and kissed him. “Are you sure about the yellow?”

He nodded. “She brought the light to our lives.”

“Ok. Yellow it is.”

“Are you ready to move in next week?” I asked, gazing down at where Theo was curled beside me.

“It’s gonna feel weird not being in my apartment,” he admitted.

“It’s a good apartment,” I replied. “But it’s time. The decorators are nearly done, and we want to be moved in with plenty of time before the baby arrives.”

“You’re right. I guess I’m just a bit nervous.”

“Why would you be nervous?” I asked. “You’ve moved before.”

“But not into a house on Billionaire Row, and not into one with staff. I don’t know what to do.”

I laughed. “Honestly, I’m still figuring it out myself. I mean, you met my moms. They’re not exactly champagne glasses and fancy dinner party types.”

Theo hummed. “No, they’re more backyard barbecue types.”

“That’s right. Hell, I even offered to buy them a new house, but they claimed they’d just paid off the one I grew up in and it was home.”

“It makes sense.”

I tightened my arm around him, ready to spend the next few minutes making out before dragging him off to the bedroom. Then Theo jumped.

“You ok?” I asked.

He stared at his stomach and touched it gingerly.

“Theo?”
