We look at each other and nod our heads before running into the forest.
"The cave! We need to get to the cave... the portal is there," I turn to Torr.
Torr nods. "Yes, I remember."
It doesn't take too long to reach the entrance. "I know the way. Follow me!" Torr says excitedly.
As soon as I enter the cave, I feel the pull and start moving faster. There is no turning back. This is my destiny and I cannot be stopped.
When we finally arrive, Torr stops abruptly. He pushes a sign on the cave wall and the portal emerges.
"Let's go," he whispers.
Before I can react, both of us disappear.
I am standing on a hill looking at the beautiful landscape below. A river runs along the bottom of it while tall trees cover most of the hillsides. In front of me lies the city. "There! She must be there," I say to Torr. "Thank you for coming along, my friend."
"No problem. Let's hurry up and save her!" he replies.
I follow him down the hill and approach the main gate. Soldiers rush toward us and attack.
Our weapons work well together and within minutes they fall dead. We continue forward and eventually arrive inside a tall building. Inside I see many aliens walking around. All of them have different skin tones and hair colors, all in hues of blue. Many wear clothes similar to mine—leather pants, tunics, boots, etc.—while some others wore robes.
"Is this the right place?" I ask.
"This looks like the temple," Torr answers.
"I demand to see Anil'ha," my voice echoes throughout the building.
A guard approaches us and asks, "Who are you and why do you want to meet Anil'ha?"
"I am Dhakar, ruler of Bellaria and I demand to speak to Anil'ha," I snap.
The guards hesitate for a moment then lead us deeper into the room. When we reach the end, another guard stands in front of us. He bows his head.
"Please, wait here," he tells us.
After a couple more minutes, a door opens and two males come out. One of them is taller than the other and has pale blue skin, dark grey hair, and ice blue eyes. He also wears leather armor and carries a sword on his hip.
"Welcome to my home, Dhakar," Anil'ha greets me.
"Skip the formalities... you make me sick," I shout.
His expression changes instantly and he glares at me angrily. "You dare talk to me like that? You will pay dearly for such insolence."
"Where is she? Where is Emma? Answer me!" I yell again.
"Emma? She is here... where she belongs," he snaps.
My heart sinks. "What did you do to her?" My hands tremble with anger.
"Calm yourself, Dhakar. She is here because she is my MATE."
Torr grabs my arm and pulls me away before I attack him. "Enough! Don't hurt him."
"But..."
"Not yet," he says quietly.
