DHAKAR
"Wake up! We should get going," Torr wakes me up. "We need to leave right now. There's a long way to Zarat's palace."
Reality hits me. Emma... I need to save her before King Zarat hurts her... I can't even think about that. I would never forgive myself if anything bad happened to my human. My heart pounds hard as we run down the corridor. It feels like time slows down until it speeds up again. Soon, we reach the door. "Yes, we have to leave now," I say.
My wounds don't hurt as much as they did. Whatever Torr gave me, it seems to have worked. Now I'm ready to face any enemy to save my Emma. We head to Zarat's palace in search of Emma. Torr is by my side.
It takes us a while to find Zarat's palace. As soon as we arrive at the main entrance, guards stop us. One guard looks familiar. He was one of those who tried to take Emma away from me. "Why are you here?" he asks.
I look back at Torr. He shakes his head. That means he doesn't know what this guy is capable of either. I glare into the man's eyes. "I wish to speak to your king!" I shout.
The soldier nods. A moment later, we're inside the building. Inside more aliens are waiting outside the room where the king sits. Everyone stares at me. This is not good. What will happen? Will they let me talk to Zarat or kill me first?
One of the men walks toward me. He holds his hand out. "Come with me," he says.
Torr follows close behind me. When we enter the chamber, everyone stops talking. Their mouths open wide.
Zarat stands up and points to Torr. "Take care of them." Then he turns around and faces me. His expression changes. In seconds, his coldness melts off his face and he smiles widely. He claps his hands together. "Welcome to Zarat's palace. Please sit down next to me so I can hear everything you want to tell me."
"Is this a joke? You know why I'm here Zarat," I demand angrily.
His smile disappears instantly. "What do you mean?"
"You took Emma from me. She belongs to me, not you. Do not ever touch her again!"
A small group of people stands up. They walk over to me and grab hold of me.
"How dare you speak to me like that?" King Zarat demands.
I shake them off and continue staring at him. "Do not lay a finger on her again. If anyone does, I'll destroy this entire place. And no matter how many times I warn you, I won't hesitate to attack you. Understand? No one touches my mate," I growl.
Everyone gasps. I stare into Zarats eyes. I feel nothing but anger towards him.
He grins broadly. "Oh, I understand completely. But I also know something else. I've sold your precious human as a slave. She is not here anymore."
This time I lose control. My emotions get the better of me and I fly across the table and tackle him. I push him hard against the wall and punch his chest repeatedly. I keep hitting until someone grabs me. I fight and kick whoever tries to restrain me. I reach king Zarat once again and grab his throat.
"Don't say another word! Don't even think about lying to me again. Because if you do, I swear that I will rip your heart apart piece by piece!"
"Where is she? Where is Emma?" I ask.
Zarat laughs loudly. "Gone and you'll never see her again."
My fist hits his face and blood flows freely. "If you hurt her, I'll come after every single person connected to you including your family. Your children. Even your grandchildren! Now tell me where she is!" I scream.
Zarat's soldiers surround me. I take out a knife and put it to Zarat's throat. "Don't come any closer or I'll slit his throat," I threaten.
They back away.
"Now tell me what happened to her!" I yell.
"She was taken to Valkrya. By Anil'ha. He's the one that bought her," Zarat answers.
* * *
I let goof his throat and drop the knife. It lands on the floor and shatters. I turn around and run outside. Torr follows closely behind me. The soldiers run after us but stop when Zarat orders them. We don't slow down until we're far enough away from the palace.
