Falling onto his chest, she savored the way his arms gathered her to him, caressing her sweat-slicked back. They lay like that in the quiet of his cottage.

Suddenly a vision started playing through her mind, and the scent of oranges wrapped around her. She could see her, Ollie, and Kade riding ponies on the beach. She could see herself giving birth with Kade supporting her from behind. She could see Ollie running ahead of two twin girls who were chasing him. She could see herself in bed with Kade, whose hair was gray, still watching her with those beautiful, kind brown eyes. The scenes faded, and she shook her head to bring herself back.

“Did you see something, love?”

Her heart started racing. “I think I just had a vision. A few of them.”

“I wondered what Sorcha was about when I smelled oranges. Her doing, the visions.”

“She can induce visions?” Megan pressed a hand to her forehead. “Kade, we’re going to have twins.”

He smiled slowly, one of the most beautiful smiles she’d ever seen on him. “I thought as much. Girls. We’ll have a grand time with them. Ollie will dote on them rather fierce, I think.”

She almost fell off him as she rose up. “You knew? How did you know? When did you know? Kade, this is too much!”

“I knew after we made love the first time, and as for how I knew, I can only say what I always say. I simply did. I can’t tell you how.”

“Oh, my goodness!” She couldn’t sit up anymore, so she flopped onto her back. “I can’t believe this. Twins!”

“You looked happy in my visions, so I didn’t feel the need to ask if you’d be happy having babies with me, but I’ll ask now. Will you?”

She touched her stomach without thought. “Yes. I wanted more with Tyson. But it never happened. Between us, maybe some part of me didn’t want it to happen. I didn’t like raising Ollie alone.”

“Well, neither Ollie nor our twins will be alone.” He leaned over her. “We’re a family. Now and forever.”

Her heart seemed to fill her chest. “I like those words.”

“They are grand words, aren’t they?” He kissed her again, this time with more haste. “Shall we love each other again and count the number of people fooled by our note?”

She laughed. “Is it terrible of us?”

“No,mo mhuirnín dílis. This is our moment to enjoy. One we’ll always remember. The mist is coming in from the sea. Come. Let me love you one last time before we let our friends and family shower us with their well wishes.”

He did love her well, right up until they heard a car drive up. She stifled her moan as he grew still within her. They heard voices, and then the car drove away. He started to move again, strong and deep inside her, but she was listening now for another arrival.

He pressed in deep, then went still again, grabbing her attention. When she lifted her hips to meet him, he resumed his rhythm until the second car drove up. He stopped again. “This idea doesn’t seem to be working as we’d hoped,” he said, looming over her. “Do you need me to fill your ears with cotton balls, love?”

When the car drove off, she laughed. “No, but you might pick up the pace. I can’t promise what’ll happen if another car shows up.”

He was chuckling as he began to thrust inside her, but soon they were both moaning and clutching each other. She dug her head into the pillow as she came, and he reared up on his knees and took her deeply, following her over the edge. This time they didn’t linger. They were dressing when the third car drove up.

She pulled his hoodie over her head. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I can’t greet people like this.”

He pulled up his pants and zipped them, still mouthwateringly handsome without a shirt. “Why not?”

“I probably look like I’ve been having sex.” She winced as she ran her fingers through her tangled hair. “I’m a mess.”

“A gorgeous mess,” Kade said, pulling out a navy work shirt from his bureau. “Megan—”

“Kade Donovan! I know you’re in there. This is your mother. You have three minutes to present yourself.”

Megan’s cheeks burned. “Oh, my God!”

“Leave it to Mum.” He chuckled as he walked to the door. “I’ll hold her off.”

She wanted to dive under the covers and hide. But wasn’t that shame talking? She didn’t want to return to that. She liked being the woman who’d wanted to stay in bed longer making love to her fiancé. “No, I’m going with you.”

He smiled as she took his hand. “Brace yourself. I have a feeling it’s going to be one hell of a party for the rest of the day.”
