“I’m going to let you.”

She wasn’t one to let go that easily. “If you’re going to, we can do it right in bed.”

He stood and pulled her up with him. She didn’t protest and it told him how much she needed to disconnect her brain from her body.

When they got to his room, she pulled her T-shirt over her head and flopped on the bed face first, let out a grunt, and then put her arms over her head.

“I’m all yours,” she said.

He straddled her hips, undid the clasp of her bra and leaned close to her ear. “Don’t you forget it,” he whispered.

His fingers wrapped around her wrists, squeezing them and dragging his hands up her arms, massaging as he went.

Her shoulders were tense so he tackled them first.

Kneading the muscles, releasing the tension as best as he could.

“That feels so good. It hurts, but in the best way possible.”

“Too hard?” he asked, letting up some.

“No,” she said. “Keep doing it like that.”

He applied more pressure, his fingers almost biting into her flesh, then moving down her shoulder blades and doing the same.

When he got to her lower back, he was squeezing her sides, his thumbs pressing close to her spine, his fingers working her waist.

“You missed your calling,” she said.

He laughed. “I can do this any time you want. There is nothing better than touching you.”

She turned before he could stop her, her bra staying on the bed, her breasts in his gaze.

“How about you massage this side of me too?”

He closed one eye at her. “I’m supposed to be relaxing you.”

“You can relax me this way. Matt, I need it. I need that release. I need it from the man I love to know that life goes on. It’s changing and always will, but you tell me to trust you and I am. I trust you to keep me anchored for the right things.”

“You know how to knock down the wall to good intentions,” he said.

Her arms lifted for his face, her hands on his cheeks, then gently pulling him toward her. “Don’t be afraid of touching me. I’m not going to break. I know sometimes in my life I’ve felt that way but not anymore. I’m stronger than I ever was and a lot of that has to do with our relationship.”

“I’m thrilled you feel that way because I do too. Are you sure?”

“What guy says no to sex?” she asked. She went for the button on her shorts, but he brushed her fingers aside and took care of it himself.

“No man,” he said. “But this isn’t sex. This is love. I’m going to make love to the woman I love.”

“Yes, please.”

Her whispered words sent a buzzing through his veins.

The intensity of the warmth it caused had his heart whirling like a windmill during a storm.

Once she was naked, he placed his fingers around her ankles and moved up her legs as he’d done to her arms.

He stopped at her thighs and spent a few minutes massaging her there, his thumbs inching closer and closer to her heat.
