“Because he is.”

“I guess so?” I let my thumbs rise higher on her legs, and she shudders for a bit.

“You guess? Come on, Ty, be honest…” She searches for something, and I’m so very afraid that she finds what she’s looking for. “He’shot.”

She stares me down with her lawyer-eyes, as I call them. It’s that penetrating look that she can do that makes people crumble beneath her and succumb to her every demand. It’s that look that she uses when she knows I’m bullshitting her.

And it's that look that she uses a lot lately around me. And, damn it, I do feel bad, because this is not fair to her. Iknowrationally that my glitch was maybe more than a glitch, because it keeps happening around Jace, and I know that Kaylee is very keen on honesty.

And, for the love of me, I should be fucking honest because I know that she senses thatsomethingis going on.

“Fine.” I take a deep breath, my heart going haywire in my chest. “Maybe he is, a little bit.”

She gives me a soft smile. “See? That wasn’t so hard, now is it?” Her lips press to my mouth again in a swift kiss. “It’s okay to be attracted to somebody else, Ty. We’re in college, we’re bound to figure shit out about ourselves, right?”

“But I love you.”

“I know,” she smiles softly. “And it’s okay… You’ve always been too focused on football to really notice what the hell is going on around you. And face it; he’s just noticeable.”

I groan at that, rubbing my hand over my face, hating this conversation already, that’s she’s so understanding. “It’s just a glitch, okay? It doesn’t mean anything. He’s just alwaysthere, singing those inappropriate songs all the damn time, flirting his ass off around me. It’s confusing.”

“Yes, he does like to flirt.”

“Oh, don’t I know it,” I copy her earlier remark, and she giggles at that.

She gives me that stupid innocent smile again, the one that I know she uses when she wants something from me. “Do you think he and I will look hot together then?” She bites her bottom lip, and her cheeks turn rosy. Her cheeksneverturn red but dohave the stupid tendency to do so whenever talk about Jace is involved.

I chuckle and kiss one of said cheeks. “What do you mean? You want him? Are you finally admitting it now that you have me opening up and shit?”

“No, I mean yeah, but fuck no, I mean– I mean like in a three-way?” She stutters.

I freeze. “You wanna what now?”

“A three-way? You remember when he was in bed with us? And what he said the morning after about if we ever wanted to try it we should ask him?” She asks almost shyly. She also never gets shy, and I think my brain is sort of short-circuiting. “I mean… It’s been stuck in my head ever since.”

When she was calling me out on my sort of attraction to Jace I never would’ve thought thatthisis what she was aiming at. But taking in consideration how she is gushing over him these last two months, yeah… Maybe it does make sense.

But when I don't answer, my hands unmoving on her legs, she hides her face in my neck. “Oh no, sorry. Forget I brought it up, please?”

“No wait…” I pet her hair, and she pushes up again. I feel her fingers clenching and unclenching at the back of my neck in what’s probably distress. “I, err… You just caught me off guard, is all.”

I give her a soft smile. If she can be open-minded about my 'dick glitch,' then I can for sure try to be open-minded about her own curiosity.

Hell, it's about the same damn person anyway. Should be an easy fix, right? Although the thought of being in the same bed with Jace again scares the shit out of me.

“So, you want to bone him then?”

“Ty!” She smacks my shoulder as I start to laugh. “I do not want tobonehim. I just thought we could, you know…”

“Could do what? Both bone you?”

I can feel the heat coming off of her face.

“Stop saying bone,” she whines, making me cuddle her close.

“Okay, I’m sorry. It’s just…”

“Easier to joke about it I guess?” She interrupts. “Serious conversation isn’t really your thing, now is it?”
