“So have I,” Larkin says. “I’ve never had the pleasure of working with them.”

“You’re right,” Lazarus says. “Denver is vile, angry and spiteful. She’s also the one who helped her sister tarnish your name in the hopes of getting a nice payday from you or the press when they sold their story. She even reached out to a network of her bully celebrity blogger friends to help. That’s why the news went viral, even though it was unverified.”

“My God,” I shake my head. “All that for a guy?”

“You’d be surprised,” Lazarus says. “Unrequited attention—or love—can really mess up a person. Some people turn evil.”

“There’s still something I don’t understand,” I say.

“What?” Lazarus asks.

“Those screenshots looked like nothing I’ve ever exchanged with Grant. I insisted on meeting him face-to-face to avoid exchanging anything online. Our text messages were fairly tame.”

“Ah, yes,” Lazarus nods. “So it’s safe to assume, Grant and you never…”

“No.”

There’s no point in adding more. I’m sure he’s already read the string of text messages.

“Everything was photoshopped,” Lazarus explains.

“So all those screenshots were doctored?” Loki asks.

“They were,” Lazarus confirms.

“Unbelievable,” Loki shakes his head.

“What right does that woman have to fuck up my life like that?” I’m angry at this revelation.

“In our line of work, you’d be surprised the shit people are willing to do or say when they’re pissed off,” Stewart says.

“He’s right,” Lance agrees. “Dawn is one conniving bitch. Those weren’t text messages between Kyla and Grant. They were sexting sessions betweenGlendaand Grant.”

“No way,” my jaw drops.

“Holy shit,” Loki growls.

“Yes and they werereallyexplicit,” Lance adds.

“Dawn spilled her guts to one of our female bodyguards who’s been handling Kyla’s old phone,” Lazarus explains.

“You arrested Dawn?” Loki asks.

“No,” Lance says. “The police don’t know any of this yet.”

“Are you going to tell them?” Loki asks. “Will she be prosecuted? She committed a crime and she was going to extort money from Kyla.” His anger matches mine.

Lance locks his gaze with mine. “Kyla can make that decision once we’re done here.”
