But it was the beginning pieces of a dream to create a real estate empire. And when AirBnB took off, I laughed my ass all the way to the bank.
I purchased a number of properties while I was active, some residential, some commercial. I was just trying to figure out what kind of empire I wanted to build.
Ultimately, I went commercial, and it has been the absolute right choice. But I’ve always had a soft spot for this place. My first purchase. Near an area that I loved when I was younger.
So when everything with Susie came to a head, I decided this would be a good home base. A good area for us to make a new beginning for her.
The house isn’t really a good fit for a baby, though. Now that Nell is starting to wobble around on her legs and get more mobile, I’ll need to make some changes. Baby proof a few things.
My stomach twists.
Maybe.
If things with Susie get better, then… maybe not.
I let out a sigh as I head into my bathroom, looking forward to taking a shower.
About five years after purchasing this place, a friend suggested I could get a huge increase in rent if I renovated. I handed the reins over to an interior designer to make the updates, and she went a little nuts. I feel like she personally designed her own perfect bathroom, because this space is… a lot to take in.
A massive walk-in shower. An oversized claw foot tub rests right in the center with a fancy chandelier hanging over it. Distressed cabinets and cream counters with two large white basins for sinks. A toilet hidden behind a doorway.
Itisa pretty amazing bathroom, though, and the person I had show it to potential renters always told me everyone loved the bathroom.
My favorite part is the bench in the shower.
