My gaze locks on his face, and when it hits me, I can’t fucking believe it.
It’s him.
“Good morning.” Madison greets me before turning back to Brooks. “Sebastian, this is Devin Miller. Devin, this is my brother, Sebastian Brooks.”
I’m going to vomit.
You have to be fucking kidding.
It’s Brooks.
The Brooks that has had me losing my mind for over a fucking week.
That Brooks.
Who’s name obviously isn’t even Brooks.
It’s Sebastian Brooks, and he’s the fucking CEO I’m replacing.
Fuck me!
“Uh…” I force my gaze to move from Brooks to his sister. “Good morning, Madison.”
I then turn back toSebastian, plastering a fake smile on my face. “Nice to meet you,Mr.Brooks.” His name comes out a little more vengeful than I’d like it to.
I stare at him staring at me and watch intently as his tongue darts out to lick his lips. “Nice to meet you, Ms. Miller.”
My anxiety soars and sweat pours from my body, making me feel sick.I cannot do this. I cannot believe what I’ve done.
I’ve literally fucked the man I’m replacing, and to make it worse, I’ve been obsessing about it ever since.
“How was getting here? Did you find us all right?” Madison asks, snapping me from my thoughts.
“Oh…” I stumble over my words. “Yes. I found you fine. Samantha downstairs directed me up, and then Joan gave me perfect directions.”
“Wonderful.” Madison is being so kind, but I can’t focus on her. The only thing consuming my thoughts is the feeling of Brooks fucking me with his eyes from across the office.
I look toward Sebastian when I speak and see his flaring nostrils and eyes full of rage.
“It’s going to be a great day.” Madison glances toward Sebastian before proclaiming, “You are going to be a huge help.”
I nod.
“Let’s get you down to HR—” A phone ringing cuts her off midsentence, and she grabs her cell phone from Sebastian’s desk. “Excuse me one second. I have to take this real quick.”
Madison walks away from Sebastian and me, leaving us in the most awkward situation of my life. I attempt to look anywhere but at him, but it doesn’t work.
I lift my eyes to him again, and when our eyes meet for the second time, I see so many emotions in them I can’t keep up.
Anger, denial, and lust all stare back at me. It almost brings tears to my eyes. This isnotwhat I wanted to happen.
How the fuck was I supposed to know who he was at the bar that night? When I met him, he was Brooks, the sexy guy with a porn-star cock, not the man I was temporarily replacing at Midtown Advertising.
“Devin, I am so sorry,” Madison apologizes, but then looks at Sebastian. “Sebastian, can you please walk Devin to the HR department? I have to run out of the office for a bit.”
No, no, no.Please don’t leave me, Madison.Nausea rolls through me again, and I’m worried I won’t be able to hold it back. Icannotbe left alone with him.
“Can’t you take her before you leave?” Sebastian says to his sister.
