“But like I said, I’m not done with you, and since we never set any clear terms, why change that now?”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“It means we’re still playing by my rules.” He kissed my neck, trailing his lips up to my jaw. “I made you mine tonight.” He traced his fingers along my lips. “I won’t take that lightly.”

A shiver rolled through me. Was it a burst of excitement or a bizarre warning that I should heed? What could it hurt to play by his rules for a few more days?

“Are you still furious with me?” I stroked his cheek, focusing on the silver nose ring that intrigued me.

“I wasn’t furious with you,” he said. “I was upset because of the position your brother put you in.”

“I told you he’s young and stupid.”

“You have to stop making excuses for him.”

I couldn’t argue with him, because he wasn’t wrong, but Chance never had a proper role model. And here I was, making excuses again.

“I was mad at myself too,” Milo said.

“Why?”

“Because I should have read you better.”

“You couldn’t have known I was a virgin.”

“It’s my job to know people.” He ran his hand along my spine. “My family relies on me to understand who people are and what they can potentially do.”

“That’s a lot of responsibility.”

“We all have a role in this organization.” He pressed his lips together. “I don’t want to talk about my business.”

I wanted to get to know him better, but pushing him about his business or his family didn’t seem like the correct route.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“The first night we met.” I touched his nose ring. “You didn’t have this.”

“I had the piercing, but I don’t wear it all the time.”

“How come?”

“My father doesn’t like it.”

“I like it.” I ran my finger over the small hoop. “It’s sexy.”

“I’ll wear it for you.” He leaned me back on the pillows. “But right now, I want you to do something for me.”

“What?”

“Spread your legs.”

“Are you always so wicked?”

“You have no idea how wicked I can be.” He hitched my leg over his hip. “Now that you’re mine, I’m never going to let up.”

Belonging to Milo Accetti came with certain advantages, but there were also disadvantages. I just had to figure out which one outweighed the other.
