It happened so fast that I didn’t have the chance to react. He grabbed my braid to wrench up my head, lips hovering inches away. My heart slammed against my ribcage, the blood in my veins fizzling.

“If you slept with him... scratch that... if he so much as touched you, I’ll make you pay.” There was a dark cloud hovering over Brandon, but it was the storm in his eyes that gave him away. They flared lethally, his intimidating size crowding me as he whispered, “But it’ll pale in comparison to what I’ll do to him.”

His threats had goaded me into the exact admission he had hoped for.

A chill trickled down my spine. Brandon wasn’t the type of boy who shared his toys even after he was done with them.

Brandon slowly gathered himself. With his eyes still locked on my face, he unclenched the grip on my hair and dragged his fingers down the column of my neck so languidly that it sent a shudder through me. I took a deep breath to steady myself and inadvertently inhaled whiffs of his clean scent.

After an eternity, he dropped his hand, prompting me to do the same with my gaze.

“You’re going to tell that boy you can’t see him anymore,” he said calmly.

Like hell. Chris was my only friend.

Brandon picked up on the defiance in my aggressive stance. “You’ll regret it if I find out otherwise.”

My eyes widened, but I didn't argue. I’d let him believe anything so that I could leave. I slung my bag over my shoulder.

“One last thing,” he spoke before I could bolt.

I waited, hand twisting around the straps of my backpack.

“We had some issues come up with our office space and have to temporarily shut it down. All the coders and staff will be working from home.”

I frowned.

So? Lots of tech companies worked remotely, and some didn’t even have a central location. What the hell did that have to do with anything?

“It’s inconvenient because the next few weeks are crucial. We have a massive deadline coming up to open our California branch. All the business partners have to work around the clock. Night and day.”

I had heard about their plans to expand to the West Coast. It’s supposed to be their most time-consuming project to date.

“We can only keep up a schedule like that if we work and sleep out of the same location. Even a cab ride back and forth is invaluable time we could be using.”

Oook.

“Problem is, there is only one person with a home office and a house large enough to accommodate the four of us.”

Dread built inside me as I realized what was coming next.

“Looks like I’ll be moving in with you, little Bunny. Milo’s coming home too.”

Oh, God.

I could hardly stand the guilt around Milo for a few minutes, let alone weeks with Brandon under the same roof.

Not to mention, Brandon didn’t pay attention to his surrounding, tuning everyone else out because he cared for no one. However, he ALWAYS paid attention when it mattered to him.

This time, he’d be paying attention to me to solidify his theory that I orchestrated it all.

Brandon was smart. Really fucking smart. Other than Milo, he was the only one that ever challenged me. If we lived together, and he was actively paying attention, he’d figure out that I knew way too much about him than I should.

What if he got suspicious and hired a private investigator to look into my past? He'd find out about my stalking within a jiffy.

There was a paper trail of all the times I flew to Nice and stayed in the same hotel as he did.

Not to mention, my credit card transactions from the restaurants he frequented. I'd sit in the booth behind him while he ate a meal. How long before he looked into his own transaction history and matched the dates?
