“Oh yeah?” I take a sip of the scalding liquid, pretending to think about it. When really, surfing with him, getting to see him inhishappy place, was much too tempting.

“Come on, baby. You said you wanted to learn.” He kissed my shoulder, and his voice dropped lower, “Plus I’d love to see you in a bikini.”

“That’s the real reason, huh? Just want to get me naked.”

“Always. I always want to get you naked.” He chuckled. “So, what do you say?”

“I don’t think I have a swimsuit, but I’ll figure something out.”

“Yes! I’ll go grab my trunks quickly and then go get the boards from the shed. Meet me out front when you’re ready.” He said excitedly. Watching Kieron bound out of the room, each step he took was lighter than the last. I love seeing him like this and it’s like a breath of fresh air in the midst of our crazy life.

I wasn’t sure what I’d do for a suit since there was no way I had one in the go-bag, but I’d just wear dark underwear and sports bra and Kieron would just have to deal with it.

Pulling a black sports bra from the bag, I realized that the only underwear I had were boy shorts that showed way too much cheek for my liking, but they would have to do. It was that or full-on thong. Slipping the makeshift bikini on, I pulled on Kieron’s shirt that he’d left yesterday for a coverup.

Walking out of the house, I pulled my hair up into a high bun and tried to contain the strands while looking for Kieron.

The view was amazing. The sun rising over the water, the sea gulls cawing overhead, the faint sound of the waves crashing on shore. It was still so early that there weren’t many people around. It was perfect. Like we had our own beach.

Kieron was standing closer to the water and I saw him pull his curls into a secure bun on the back of his head. He looked… goddamn, did he look good. His arms raised to fix his hair and the lean muscles all shifted under him, his abs flexed with the movement giving me a view of the hard-earned muscle. His body was always a nice treat for the eyes, but what really got me was the carefree and easy smile he was sporting.

He was gorgeous. And all mine.

“Come on,” he called out to me and I ran out onto the beach, ready to learn all I could about the activity that brought my man this much joy.

After a full, long day of Kieron teaching me to surf; we were in the water for hours, I kept falling down but getting right back up with his encouragement and patience, and on how to throw a decent punch, a powerful kick; my muscles screaming at me, and plenty of ruminating over the early morning terrible phone call and mini-meltdown, I wanted to do nothing but sleep.

I somewhat wondered if that was Kieron’s plan all along. Tire me out so that I didn’t think of what Luca was planning to do.

God, this was so fucked up. We just got engaged and we couldn’t even enjoy it for a full 24 freaking hours before everything blew up.

I dragged myself into the house slowly, legs and arms already sore because, of course, I saw Kieron start to do some bodyweight exercises, I thought I should join in on. After spending the morning surfing, which uses a lot of muscles that I didn’t even know I had. I was going to be in so much pain tomorrow.

“You do that every day?” I ask, huffing and puffing as I walked into the living room and plopping out face down on the couch. The best noise ever filled the room as Kieron let out a full-bodied laugh. Damn, he was so light and relaxed. I hadn’t seen him like this before and I love it. I wanted to be the one to make him feel like this every day.

“Do you think these biceps and these abs just happen? I do double what we did today, plus weights.” He tells me and I suddenly have so much more appreciation for the view I get every time I see him. Because he works really fucking hard.

“That’s miserable.”

“Eh, I don’t mind it anymore. I like the escape and the time to myself.” He explains as he sits on the couch, pulling my feet into his lap. “Plus, your reaction every time I take my shirt off really makes it worth it.”

“I’ll always react this way, handsome, regardless of what you look like because you are you.” I say, sitting up and pulling him closer to me by fisting his shirt. “For the rest of our lives. I can’t believe your mine.”

“Always.” He smiles and kisses me sweetly. “Speaking of the rest of our lives…”

I can feel an uncontrollable smile and blush start to cross my face.

“Yes, what did you have in mind?”

“What do you think of getting married tomorrow? At the court house here in town? I would normally send for someone from the Clan but I’m not wanting to draw any attention to us.” He explains, pulling me into his chest and maneuvering me over his lap so I’m straddling his thighs. “Don’t worry, after things settle down with the Italians, you and I will have our wedding. A big, proper wedding in a church in front of all our families and friends. A big ceremony, a tux and you in a big, gorgeous dress where everyone can see.”

I chuckle. “Is that something you want?”

“A wedding?” He asks, confusion coloring his tone.

“Yeah.”
