“It’s not a deal breaker by any means. I just know that weddings are important to girls.”
“Not this girl. I don’t care about the wedding. I care about the marriage. That is so much more important to me than a big party.” I say truthfully. If he wanted a big, white wedding, I’d do it for him, to make him happy because that’s all I want; Kieron and I together and happy.
But I don’t need the ceremony. Don’t want it even.
I just want him.
“So instead, tell me more about our marriage.” I lean in and kiss his throat once, twice, three, soft times.
“It’ll be one for the history books, baby. The thing of fairy tales.” He whispers, sliding his hands up my waist and around my shoulders. “I don’t give two shits if we have a wedding. I just want my ring on your finger and my name behind yours.”
A shiver runs through me at his words. “Then let’s get married tomorrow. Mr. Tavish.”
“I can’t fucking wait, Mrs. Tavish.”
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Kieron
I’m getting married today.
Married.
To Talia. The girl that I thought had gotten away.
Sitting up out of bed and astounded by the sheer luck I had. I knew growing up I would more than likely be forced to marry a suitable match for the Clan, rather than for love. Then all the bullshit I had to do to prove myself to be worthy of the Second-in-Command, all the soul-damning bullshit that I’ve done along the way… I was certain that no matter what, I would never have the person I wanted, truly wanted, by my side.
But I must have done something right because here she is. And she’s all mine.
Talia was cuddled up against my side and reaching out in her sleep for me and my warmth. Her arms were no doubly going to be sore from the training from yesterday, but the view of her long, lithe arms, naked from our late-night festivities slid across the grey sheets, was strangely a turn on.
But anything was a turn on when it came to Talia, I’m finding.
Getting out of bed, I made my way to the kitchen to throw together some food for us. While standing at the coffee machine and waiting for the much-needed caffeine, I start scrolling through my phone to try and find a place where we can go to get an expedited marriage license.
“Why’d you leave?” Talia’s arms wrapped around my middle.
“We need food, and I needed caffeine. Someone,” I said with a smirk, “kept me up all night.”
“Are you complaining?” She nipped my back and I turned around quickly, grabbing her and sitting her on the counter.
“Not in the slightest.” I step in-between her legs and drop a kiss to her neck. “I found a place to get married.”
“You did? Man, that was fast. You must really want to lock me down, huh?” She pulls the neck of my shirt in to have me closer. I can see just how happy she looks; how light and joyful she is. I love it.
“Absolutely.” I smile and kiss her. Talia wraps her arms around my shoulders and locks her ankles around my waist, effectively keeping me in place. This was a kiss that could quickly become something much more fun but we didn’t have time for that today.
“Come on, go get changed for our wedding day and I’ll make us some breakfast.” I say, smacking her ass lightly and stepping back so she can slip off the counter.
“Ugh. Fine.” She teases me, cupping my cheek. “I’ll be in the shower, feel free to join me.”
“Don’t tease me.” I groan and turn around to face the fridge and pull the ingredients to make us breakfast.
All while willing my boner to go down.

I made quick work of getting ready and changing clothes myself after bringing some eggs and bacon along with coffee to Talia while she’s blow drying her hair. I got ready quickly in the only clothes I had that were more dressed-up in my go bag; a black button down and black jeans. My combat boots would have to do but honestly, it didn’t matter what we wore. It mattered that her last name was Tavish by the end of the day.
