Pushing my way past all the other partiers, I made my way inside the fraternity house to find better alcohol. With the fucking hell that just happened, I needed to get drunk faster.

The inside of the frat house was exactly what you would expect it to look like; full of empty alcohol bottles, pizza boxes, and packed to the brim with people. The dark wood paneling of the interior of the house made everything darker, more masculine somehow but with all these people crowding around, the house seemed smaller and darker than it was. Not that I would know what it looked like without all the people. I’ve never been here, and I assume that I’ll never be here again. I squeezed through the bodies and found the kitchen which seemed to be the only room with the overhead lights on.

“Finally.” I whispered as I picked up a handle of vodka that was opened on the kitchen counter and poured a generous helping in my cup.

“Kieron! My man, glad you could make it!” I heard behind me. The man in question had bright red natural hair, like Prince Harry but brighter. Actually, he kind of looked like Prince Harry if I thought about it. Orangey red hair with a strong jaw and a smile that lit up his whole face. But what really drew my attention was the man who had walked in.

He was gorgeous and something inside me reached out for him. I needed to talk to him, needed to know him, if only for a moment.

The nerves in my stomach were quieted by the straight vodka, but I took another sip as I studied the mystery man. He was giant, in every sense of the word. His height, his muscles, his hands. When he reached up his hand to clasp the first one’s hand in greeting, I was able to see just how muscled his arms were as his biceps flexed. The material of his navy t-shirt held on for dear life.

Dear lord, this man was delicious in a way that I haven’t seen before.

“Trenton, hey.” His voice. Fuck, his voice. I felt my heart clench and I felt a fire light inside.

“I’m so glad you could make it. There is a keg outside, liquor on the counter and mixers in the fridge.” Trenton told him and was pointing out all the places he was telling Kieron about.

“Thanks man.”

I wonder where he worked or what he did that kept him so busy. I don’t think I’ve seen him around campus, I definitely would have remembered seeing him, even if it was just a second.

I took another drink of my vodka and let the heat bring me back into myself. It went down smoothly, but then the last dregs caught in my throat and made me start to cough. I tried to keep the coughs quiet, not drawing attention to myself. But I couldn’t catch a full breath and the coughs became louder and more aggressive no matter how much I tried to dampen them.

How fucking embarrassing.

“Are you okay?” I could feel two large hands on me; one hit my back hard and one spanned my hip to keep me upright. “Get her some water!” He barked.

After a few more hard hits on my back, I felt like I could breathe again.

“Thank you,” I put my hand on my throat letting the air soothe my now sore throat. And all too soon the warm hands that had saved me, left my body. I wanted to move back into them, but I didn’t know where they went. I reached for the bottle of water that had appeared in front of me and gulped it down.

“Hey, slowly now. Don’t want you to choke again.” A shiver ran through my body at his words.

“I’m okay. Thank you.” I was able to finally turn and see who my savior was and I locked eyes with the short haired, tattooed God in a navy shirt with the darkest eyes I’ve ever seen. I’m totally sure that my mouth was open and eyes were glazed over.

“You already said that. I’m Kieron.” The most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen graced his face. His eyes had a sparkle to them as he stuck his hand out for me to shake.

“Talia.” I said as I took his hand and shook it tightly. I felt a shift inside as our hands came together. It felt…right.

“Nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too.” I smiled at him and let go of his hand. Reluctantly.

“Can I get you another drink? You seem to have choked on your last one.” Kieron moved closer to the counter and grabbed another two cups.

“That would be great.”

“Kieron! Man, what are you doing?” Trenton walked over to him before stopping suddenly and made a show of looking me up and down. “And where have you been all my life?” He rested his body against the counter and crossed both his arms and his ankles.

“Hiding, obviously.” I smirked at him and mimicked his posture.

“Ouch. Burn,” Trenton covered his chest with his hand and acted as if he had been shot. “Okay, I like you.”

“I’m so honored.”

“I’m Trenton.” He leaned over and offered his hand for me to take, which I did with a smile. His personality and charisma were infectious.

“Talia.”
