“What are you doing?”sheasked, taking a step back.

“Now I know you’re not going tokill yourself.”He grabbed her wrist and slid the blade of thescissors across her skin.Snapping the steel blades closed, heremoved her name.“We need to burn this.”

“Yes, burn it.I don’t wantto have any memory of what I did.”

He still held onto her hand.“You’realways going to have a memory of what you did.”Caressing the whitebandage he stared into her eyes.“You’ll always have yourscars.”

“I know.”

“Oh, I need you to wear these.”He pulled the rings out of his pocket.

“Wedding rings?”

“Yeah, until we’ve got someway of dealing with Michael with proof, we’re staying out ofsight.”He slid the rings onto her finger and leaned down to kissher hand.

“Thank you.”

Tears were shining in her eyes when hepulled away.“I love you, Kels.I’ll do anything foryou.”

She wrapped her hand around his neckand pulled him in close.“I don’t deserve you at all.”

“Ditto, baby.”

He claimed her lips feeling complete onceagain.Holding her close, he squeezed her ass loving her plumpflesh filling his hands.

Their moans mingledtogether.

They were interrupted by the shrill ofthe telephone.

“Fuck, they’ve got theworst possible timing,” he said.

“I’m going to head for ashower.”She moved away from him.

“No, you need a bath.Sandytold me you’re not allowed to get them wet.”

She nodded, showing her agreementbefore leaving him alone.

“We’re here,” he said,answering the call.

“Good.Call if you get anymore news,” Tiny said.

“Has Alex gotanything?”

“Nothing concrete.He will.You’re just going to have to give him time.We’ll get this fuckerin no time.”

“Mason Terry, is he a goodman?”Killer asked.He needed to know who he couldtrust.

“Yeah, he’s a good man.Doesn’tcome to Fort Wills often.Grew up moving from place to place.LastI heard he liked Paradise Rocks enough to settle down.”Tiny gavehim the details of the man staying in the same town as he was.“I’ll call with more updates when they becomeavailable.”

Killer said his goodbyes and hung upthe phone.

Locking all the doors andwindows he turned the lights off before heading upstairs with theirbags.Leaving them in the bedroom he entered the bathroom.For asecond the image of Kelseylying surrounded in red water swam across hismind.He shoved the horrid image away.

He found her sat in the bath with herarms resting on either side.She turned to look at him as heentered.

Tears glistened in hereyes.

“Baby, what’s the matter?”he asked, going to his knees by the bathtub.
