Killer tensed up seeing two cars rightup ahead. When Zero stopped the car, he climbed out, reaching in toshake Zero’s hand.“Take care, man,” Killer said.
“Keep safe, and remember, stay intouch.”
He picked Kelsey up.She woke up as hewas resting her in the other car.
“Shh, I’m going to talkeverything through with Alex.Stay here.”He closed the doorturning to Alex.
“This is a high risk, youknow that right?”
“Yeah, I know.I’ve got toprotect my woman.”
“Okay. Here are your passportsand new identities. You’re a married coupleand are settling down in a quaintlittle town. You can’t wear your leather cut,” Alex said, warninghim.
“I left it back at theclub. This is all I’ve got,” Killer said.
“Right.”Alex popped the trunk ofthe car.“Here are your cases. The house is fullyfurnished, and here are the keys.I’ve talked with the local man who owns themechanic shop, and he’s more than happy to have you around to takesome of the workload off him.”
Staring at the bags, Killer nodded.“You thought of everything.”
“Got no choice. Here, takethese and be careful. You get any trouble, don’t hesitate to giveus a call.”
Shaking hands with Alex, Killer lefthim alone to climb behind the wheel.
“What’s going on?”Kelseyasked.
“I’ll tell you everythingwhen we get there.”
She stayedsilent.Killer needed to think, and the only way to do that was on theroad.
“Climb into the front,” hesaid, slowing the car down.He could bear silence nolonger.
Kelsey got into the front, doing herseatbelt up before glancing at him.He took hold of her hand, squeezing her.
“Don’t worry about a thing. We’regoing to get through this together.”He pulled away managing theroads.
“Where are we going?”sheasked.
“Paradise Rocks. It’s a smalltown. We’ve got a few members of The Skulls who live here. They’renot fully fledged members, but they’re a distant part of the club.”Killerchecked the address and entered the small town. The town center hada variety of shops including a diner, mechanic shop, and a smallshopping mall along the end of the road.He spotted a sex shopalong with many different shops.Exiting the town, he navigated theroads coming to a stop at a small home at the end of a long street. The house didn’t stand out at all.In fact it looked like thetwenty other houses along the strip of the road.He spotted thelight on in the front window.
Climbing out, he waited for the doorto open.
Seconds later a man with sandy coloredhair appeared in the doorway.“You Theodore?”
“Yeah, are you MasonTerry?”
“Yep.”
They shook hands pulling eachother in to slapa hand on the back.“I’ve got bags in the back.”
Mason moved to the back as Kelseystepped out of the car.“Nice to meet you, sweetheart.”
She nodded, looking towardKiller.
“He’s good.He’s one ofus.”
“Yeah, you’ll be starting work onMonday.I’ve got everything set up for you.”
Within twenty minutes Mason got him up todate, and they were alone in their house.Staring around thesitting room, he turned to look at Kelsey. She still wore herhospital gown and the band around her wrist.Heading into thekitchen, he moved back to her with a pair of scissors.
