“And what point was that?”He asks, his voice filled with amusement.
“Our club Prince can't ride. So, I'm taking him to get some bike gear; he needs it so he can learn. Plus, I think he needs a change of scenery, so it's a win-win.”
“I agree with you there. I've been meaning to bring up getting stuff for ages now. I've already got Piston searching for a bike for him for his birthday.”
“That's great; he's going to love that. I'll go get his gear with him now. We'll be back for food. Do we have it at home or at The Clubhouse?”
“Home tonight; I'm going to want to see what you two buy.”
“Okay, babe, see you later. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Hanging up, I go over and jump in the car, where Cam's sitting in the passenger seat, bouncing up and down in excitement. He certainly needed a change of scenery; he really doesn't look like the lost kid sitting on the porch now. Starting the engine, and we're off. Now this is the only type of shopping I can stand. Any other, and I'm pretty sure I'd prefer to shoot myself.
Shopping with Cam was great. His face when we walked into the store and I told him,“To have at it,”was filled with amazement. He picked a plain black helmet, but it won't stay that way for long. I'm going to ask Wreck to design something unique and paint it on it for his birthday. It's something Wreck only does for a select few people because he prefers to do his art on living flesh. He also picked out an identical leather jacket to his dad's; I couldn't help but laugh when he did. He’s really going to look like a mini-Wrath, as Tech has nicknamed him. He got some good boots and gloves, too.
I couldn't help but feel for him when he kept asking me if I was sure it was okay that he was spending so much of my money. Fucking Claire obviously never treated him to anything. I'd spend every last dime of my money if it meant he got whathe wanted and needed. He deserves to be spoiled now and again after the life he lived with Claire.
Getting back home, Wrath's waiting inside with takeout pizza. He does know me so well. I do love a good pizza. It's like heaven on a plate, in my opinion. Plus, it's always good to have a night off cooking.
"So, what did you get?”He asks as we plate up.
“He can show you when we've eaten; you're going to love it,”I say around a mouthful of pizza.
I'm fucking starving; I may have forgotten to grab lunch again.
“Sounds good. Eat up then.”Wrath demands of us.
I know he's excited to see his son's first load of bike gear. I can't blame him. It's a big thing when you're a member of an MC.
Cam finishes eating, inhaling it in record time. He's then rushing out of the room to where he left his bags by the front door. He's not as quick as I'd expect him to be, though. I wonder what he's doing; he only had to pick up a few bags.
When he does come back in, I fall off the sofa, laughing. He's put all his new stuff on except his helmet, which is in his hand, and fuck if he doesn't look like Mini-Wrath.
Wheezing I manage to get out and say,"Wrath, go put yours on; I need a fucking picture of you two dressed like this together.”
Shaking his head at me, he gets up and does what I've asked. He comes back and stands by Cam; there’s no denying that they’re father and son. Taking my phone out, I take a quick picture before letting them know that I'm done. They take off back out of the room to go and get out their gear.
Picking my phone back up, I send the picture to Shadow and Blaze. They're going to love this shit. Wrath may want to kill me when he finds out I sent it to them, but oh well, it'll be worth it.
Chapter Thirty-One
Flame
Even with Claire hanging over our heads, I couldn't be happier. I've finally got my man. Cam being here with us makes it feel like our family’s more complete than ever. Honestly, it feels like we've always been a family, and I'm loving it. Wrath’s off with Cam at the moment, starting his lessons on how to ride and bike maintenance. They should have fun. I know how much Wrath enjoyed doing this at Cam's age.
Walking through The Clubhouse, I can hear a man and woman shouting, which is unusual. I run towards where it sounds like it's coming from, coming to an abrupt halt when I get there. Jasmine's leaning against the wall, with Blade standing in front of her. What the hell is going on here?
“I told you that it's not true. Instead of believing me, you're going to believe them, bitches? Is that what you're telling me, Jas? And you're going to say shit about stuff I told you in confidence too?”Blade says, and he sounds hurt, and that's not normal for Blade; normally he's in full control of his emotions.
“What else do you expect me to believe, Blade? They've no reason to lie to me, and you do.”She replies, and her features are hard.
Blade just backs away from her, shaking his head.
“I expect you to ask me if it's true instead of just believing what they say. They've every reason to lie to you, and you've literally just fallen for it, just like they wanted. I've been nothing but honest with you, Jas, and you've just thrown it all back in my face. I've told you about things that very few people know. Do you know how much your lack of trust hurts? Don't worry though; I'm out of here.”He says his voice is choked up, and fuck, when he turns his back to her, he has a tear running down his face. It's obvious whatever has happened has really fucking hurt him.
"Blade, come with me,”I say when he just stands with his back to Jasmine, looking lost.
