Krista sat across of her oldest friends Shauna and Tina in her living room, a bottle of sweet red and loads of snacks on the coffee table. The three were sitting on the floor around the coffee table just relaxing and getting caught up. Both Shauna and Tina were happily married and had children. That was something the Krista was a little envious about when it came to her friends. They had all found their happily ever after.

“So, how’s Jerry doing?” Tina asked.

“He’s awake now, thank god. I was starting to get worried about him, I mean he was unconscious for nearly a week.” Krista answered before taking a sip of her wine.

“Sometimes a person’s body just needs to shut down so the rest can heal.” Shauna replied.

Krista nodded in agreement, “That’s what the doctors said. I went and saw him this morning. The good news is, if everything stays on the upside like it is, they’ll be releasing him by next Saturday.”

“When are his parents coming in?” Shauna questioned, grabbing a handful of popcorn.

“They’re flight lands tomorrow morning. Mom and dad are picking them up then taking them to Jerry’s apartment, since I have to swing by PD in the morning to go over my statement and stuff.”

Tina leaned her elbows on the table and cupped her chin, “And how are things going with you and a certain bad ass Marine we all know?”

Krista looked down and took a long swallow of her wine. “Um, things are…progressing.”

“Oh my god, you’re blushing!” Shauna teased.

“No I’m not!” Krista argued, but could feel said blush creeping up her neck.

“Okay, spill. Now.” Tina demanded.

“Um, we…well…” Krista stammered, something she found herself doing a lot of lately on the topic of Ethan Blackstone.

“You slept with him.” Shauna grinned.

“I wouldn’t say we slept, exactly.” Krista mumbled.

“Oh you whore.” Tina teased laughing.

“How was it? Was it as good as you remember?” Shauna asked, leaning in more.

Krista let out a wistful sigh as she replayed the events of last night. “This Ethan would probably send the old Ethan running.” Shauna and Tina squealed in glee. The two began bombarding Krista with details. “Slow down. God you two are horrible.”

“Hey, we’re two old married ladies. We have to live vicariously through you.” Shauna pointed out.

“Shauna’s right. Now spill it! What was it like?” Tina added.

“God, I don’t even know how to start. I mean we were in his truck, we started talking then just as I’m getting out, Ethan grabs me and pulled me to him. When he kissed me, holy fuck can that man kiss.” Krista sighed.

Shauna and Tina burst into laughter. It was Tina who started speaking next. “Did you two even make it to a bed?”

Krista snorted. “We made it three steps inside and that was a far as we could go before he went at it.”

“Oh hell, I’m never going to look at your foyer the same way again.” Shauna giggled.

“That makes two of us.” Krista grinned.

“Okay, so you two fucked each other’s brains out right inside the door. What happened next you hooker.” Tina teased.

“He told me he was staying the night. I could just nod like a freaking idiot. He carried me upstairs and we went to my bedroom. I think we spent most of the night fucking. Damn if that man doesn’t have stamina.” Krista explained.

“Wow! Seriously? Most of the night?” Shauna gaped.

Krista picked up her wine glass, took a swallow and nodded. “Yeah. It was nearly two in the morning when we finally started to go sleep. I slept like the dead, ‘cause I didn’t wake up again until about eight or so this morning and that was only because I smelt coffee brewing. I walked downstairs and found him cooking breakfast.”

“A sex machine and he can cook? Oh yeah, he’s a keeper girl.” Tina said.
