“I always thought he was a keeper before when they dated.” Shauna added.
“Ethan is a keeper plain and simple.” Krista replied, as her thoughts began drifting off.
Shauna and Tina shared a knowing look before Tina spoke up. “So what’s the problem? And don’t give me the bullshit that nothing’s wrong. I see the look in your eyes. You’re thinking hard about something. What is it? Does he snore or something?”
Krista sighed. Knowing she couldn’t keep it from her best friends, she rose to her feet and began pacing. “I guess the deal is, though I’m not sure it’s a bad thing. Well, for me anyway. I think Ethan maybe a Dominant.”
She looked at her friends and watched as both Shauna and Tina’s eyes bulged at this information. Krista wasn’t ashamed at her tastes when it came to sex, hell she and most of her girlfriends’ kind of liked it when their husbands, or in Krista’s case, lovers took charge and control in the bedroom. She stopped pacing and faced them again.
“Does it make me strange when I say that I’m not surprised?” Tina asked.
Krista frowned. “What do you mean you’re not surprised?”
“I’m with Krista on this. I mean back in school Ethan was so sweet.” Shauna said.
“Well, you guys know that Manuel is kind of the same way right? Well, Ethan has those same traits that Manuel does. Maybe I just picked up on it, but Ethan seems he would be right at home in that lifestyle.” Tina explained.
“You know, now that you say that, Ethan and Manuel are similar.” Shauna agreed.
Krista however remained silent as she refilled her glass and sat back down. She could feel Shauna staring at her. She faced Shauna. “What?”
“Does that bother you? I mean Ethan being a bit Dominant?”
“No, quite the opposite. My concern is, what if I can’t be what HE wants. He told me that I better be one hundred percent sure that this was what I wanted.” Krista stated.
“Krista honey, anyone with two eyes can see that it’s obvious you never got over him. You need to be sure that you can handle what it would mean being with an Alpha male like Ethan. He will want to be the one in charge when it comes to sex. Now, I don’t know how he will be outside of that, but you also have this psycho after you and that Alpha in him will want to protect you.” Tina explained.
“Tina’s right, Krista. Yes, we know you can handle yourself and I’m sure Ethan does too. Yet you need to prepare yourself for a fight when it comes to your protection. He will want to make the judgment calls there.” Shauna pointed out.
Krista leaned back against her sofa and closed her eyes on a sigh. “You both are right and I plan on having a fight where my protection is concerned. I will listen to his suggestions and take them into consideration. I’m not going to do anything stupid on that front. As for the sex, the idea of submitting to Ethan there is a major turn on for me. I will see that he is the only man I’ve ever WANTED to do that with.”
“And have you?” Tina asked.
“Have I what?” Krista countered.
“Duh, submitted to Ethan.” Shauna laughed.
Krista thought about it. Had she really? Yes, she gave in to him the night before, but would she call the fully submitting to him? She would need to think about that. Would she even be able to fully give up control to a man, despite wanting to do so?
Chapter 10
Ethan put down the book. He was equal parts shocked, impressed and turned on. He knew Krista had been a talented writer when they were younger, but never knew just how talented. Blinking rapidly, he glanced at the clock. Shit, he'd finished the whole book in three hours. He had never been much of a reader but once he had started he had been unable to stop.
Stiffly he stood from his chair and moved to the kitchen for coffee. Before he could stop himself he whipped out his phone and texted Krista. What he didn't expect was her instant reply.
Ethan? Something wrong?
No. Sorry didn't mean to wake you.
:) I wasn't asleep. I do some of my best work at around midnight.
Ethan smiled.You always were a night owl.
Lol. So were you as I recall.
Ethan laughed and refilled his mug.Just finished Dress Blues.
His phone was silent for several minutes before her reply came through.What did you think of it?
