“Plus, you own those dance clubs, and you’re always traveling,” Linda added, and it was fantastic watching Emma’s parents making Jaxson’s argument for him. “Taking some time to just enjoy time together outside of work and parenting is important.”
“Exactly.” Robert pulled Linda into his arms, kissing her on her lips even though she blushed and smacked him on the shoulder.
“Robert!”
“Oh, stop it, Linda,” Robert replied through a chuckle. “I think we’re past the birds and the bees talk with Emma at this point. Eh?”
Emma’s blush grew as she groaned, but Chase was just as amused by the situation as Jaxson.
“The friends that invited us to Chicago, do you mean Lukus and Tiffany?” Chase asked, grinning, and Jax almost rolled his eyes becauseof courseChase remembered her name without hesitation.
“Yeah, Lukus and Tiffany. It’s going to be so much fun,” Jaxson purred, leaning down to press a kiss to Emma’s hair. “Don’t you think, baby?”
“I think I don’t have a choice in this,” she muttered, but there was a smile toying with her mouth and he knew she was just as curious to see The Punishment Pit as he was.
“Oh, you know better than that, Emma,” Jax whispered, brushing his lips against her ear. “You always have a choice. I just hope you choose to be a good girl for me.”
The little shiver that rolled through her as he hugged her against his side was all the confirmation Jax needed that their spontaneous trip was going to be well worth the wait.
And one hell of a way to end their holiday season.
