“Say you want it,” she whispered, mouth brushing his. Tears sat in her tear ducts.
“I wantyou.” Hov pumped under her. “I want you so bad but I can’t be the only one wanting this shit. You gotta want me too.”
She sunk down on him with a sharp gasp, and Hov’s head dropped back against the pillow.
He locked his arms around her hips. “Yea, ride that dick like that.”
“Fuck, Quameek,” Knycole crooned.
Their sex was always long and left her full for days but this time, it felt different. Like he was trying to show her what she was going to miss. All that dick and all that love. Hov was reminding her of all the shit she walked away from. Maybe he should’ve done it sooner but his heart was still holding onto her coming to her senses.
“You always do this,” she whispered. “Break me down like you tryna rebuild me. Your dick soothes my soul.”
“I am.” His voice was husky. “Idid.”
Her eyes snapped down on him. “Hov?”
Shaking his head, he reached up to wipe her tears. “No tears here… this what you wanted, kid.”
“But…”
“No buts.” He pulled her lips to him by her neck. “Just dick.”
She rode him while crying, like she knew what he liked. Because she did. They were past guessing. Past playing cute. She circled her hips, bounced, grinded, dragged herself over his shaft slow enough to make him curse under his breath.
Because they’d been through too much not to know what this was.
Two hearts tangled up in pain and pride. Broken in places that never fully healed. But somehow, they always found their way back to each other. Sometimes angry. Sometimes messy. But alwaysreal.
Even if they never figured out how tostaythat way.
Some hearts don’t just love.
Theytangle.
Wrap around each other until neither can breathe, but both refuse to let go. That was them. Chaotic. Loyal. Addicted. Familiar.
Not perfect. Not even close.
But when it was right?—
It was church.
It was poetry.
It was war and worship all in the same breath.
And Hov knew right then—if being hers killed him, he’d die with his mouth on her name.
Still, he had to make sure she felt what life was like without him to fall back on. Hov had feelings too and it didn’t seem like Knycole understood that.
CHAPTER 23
Rock rolledover to little breaths hitting his face. Then he heard giggles.
“Daddy,” Rodeisha tried to whisper.
He held his smile in, still pretending to be sleep.
