Mae Lou’s eyes misted. “I missed you so much baby but I’m happy you’re home now. Thank you lord.” Raising her arms to the sky, she praised Him.
Hov stood back with his foot propped up on the porch. To witness the moment was something he couldn’t put in words.
“Get yo’ ass over here,” Mae Lou said with open arms. “You’re my grandson too.” It was true because like everyoneelse, they’d reneged on telling Rock about Knycole and Hov. She swore she would stay out of it and so far, she’d done just that.
“Where’s my baby?” Rock finally asked about Rocky once the reunion was less mushy.
“Her ass should be on her way home from school, but you never know what her and that damn boy got going on,” she snitched.
“Who is the little nigga?” Rock cocked his head to the side.
“Daijon,” Mae Lou rolled her eyes. She didn’t like the thought of her precious grandbaby having a little boyfriend.
“Noir’s little brother?” Rock asked for clarification, his thick brows touching his hairline.
Hov snickered. “That’s him. The little nigga got promise though. They’re saying he’s a guaranteed NBA pick.”
“For real?” Rock asked.
Hov nodded, seeing the admiration in his friend’s eyes.
He wiped his mouth. “So much shit has changed. I remember when he was still peeing in the bed.”
“Probably still does,” Mae Lou mumbled making everyone laugh.
The trio caught up a little more before Rock walked into his temporary room that was covered in shopping bags. They’d truly gone all out for his first day home. Hov told him about the welcome home party they were having at the club later that night. Rock couldn’t wait to enjoy the party scene as an adult.
Aye, you got me fucked up, If I’ma go out without a fight. Aye, this my first day, I’ma live it up tonight.
“This shit is live,” Rock yelled over the music.Kodak Black’s First Day Outwas bouncing through the speakers creating the vibe.
The DJ had been showing him lots of love from the time he’d pulled into the parking lot to him stepping foot through the front doors. “Welcome home, Rock. Rock’s home!”
Women were breaking their necks to get a good look at the fine boy from back in the day who was finally free. They were well aware of his status and how he was going to be put on because he was connected to Hov and they wanted to be on his arm when he shot to the top. Little did they know, he already had his eyes set on someone else.
“Welcome home, Rock,” Briana greeted before wrapping her arms around Hov to give him a hug.
Rock nodded his head. “You done grew up. I see you still trying to lock my boy down, huh?”
“You don’t know the half. But can I steal him from you for a while?” she asked keeping her eyes on Hov. He knew by the look in her eyes what she wanted. Hov had yet to put dick in her, but she loved sucking him up. No complaints came from him.
“It’s your world,” Rock stepped aside with a goofy look on his face knowing what she really wanted with his friend. After they walked away, Rock made his way to his section that was filled with familiar faces, including Cash.
“Nigga been in that bitch lifting ain't it?” Cash joked, dapping him up before pulling him into a brotherly hug.
“I can't believe your superstar ass came down to fuck with me,” Rock grinned. Like Hov, he was extremely proud of what Cash had accomplished. They always knew he was talented as hell with rapping.
Graciously, Cash bowed. “I wouldn’t miss this shit for nothing in the world.”
“I swear I appreciate it and I’m thankful for what you did for me. That was some real nigga shit.” Rock thought about how Cash pulled some strings on his case so that he didn’t have to sit down for so long. They were trying to give him ten years that got reduced to five with no papers if he did the full bid.
Pulling him into another brotherly hug, Cash told him it was no problem. There were times when he didn’t have food and Rock and Hov would make sure his family ate. Even though he was only two years their junior, they treated him like he was a younger brother. When he went to them about selling drugs, at first, they said no but eventually they gave in but stayed on him about his music. So, him using his newfound fame and power to pull some strings for Rock was the least he could do.
They sat around in the section vibing out, reminiscing, and talking shit. That was all Rock needed—to be surrounded by people he fucked with. It was all good until Christian walked in with Noir. He wasn’t a big fan of him.
“This nigga here,” Cash grimaced.
“You still smelling behind Noir, huh?” Rock asked amused while sipping from his cup.
