We look down at the Aragnis pack, no, the Kazari pack as Rhea will take back her old home.

She hasn’t said that she wants to, but I will make sure I give it back to her so she has the option to decide what she would like to do with it. Knowing my little wolf, she would want it to be another sanctuary for those who need it.

“Does she know you are here?”

“No,”I say,“She thinks I am checking on Elites posted for scouting.”

I didn’t lie to my little wolf, I did check in with those men, but I didn’t tell her about this detour in case the result brought nothing.

We see movement in the home, three, maybe four figures inside and I tilt my head.

“Looks like perfect timing.”

I smirk.“Indeed.”

A family massacre it is.

I tilt my head to move forward and Leo holds out a hand.“After you, Alpha.”

“Shut the fuck up,”I growl at him. Rhea isn’t the only one who doesn’t like the title, though I only loathe it from my closest.

He laughs at my back, uncaring about the blood that’s about to be spilled.

He’s an alpha himself, his skills are nearly on par with mine, so why is he taunting me now?

“Bloodlust too thick for you?”I ask as we quietly make our way to the back of the home, just like last time.”

“A little,”he admits after a long pause.

I’ll keep my eye on him then.

It’s not often Leo can get caught up in the battle, craving for more, but it doesn’t mean it cannot happen at any moment.

We just have to keep it under control.

We reach the back entrance, and we instantly hear raised voices inside, a specific male standing out.

“…they just showed up…fucking bitch and her wolf…I can’t go and tell him we were defeated, it would look bad and then we…

A woman’s voice comes next and I know it’s Rhea’s aunt. “Just tell him our men let you down, tell him that the Nightshadepack set you up? Or that Berthold betrayed you. Just like Higher Warden has.”

“He’s dead!” Patrick shouts.

“Exactly.”

Me and Leo give each other a quick look and I open the door into the mud room as they try to figure out a way to salvage what had just happened.

There won’t be any way, they will be dead.

“Ready?”I ask Leo.

“Always.”

When I open the door and enter the kitchen, the family finally realizes they aren’t alone anymore.

“Who dares enter my home…oh!” Selene stumbles back, knocking into the kitchen table. “Get...get out!” she screeches, her face paling.

A blade is coming for my throat in the next moment and I easily disarm Richard, another of Rhea’s cousins. Another male, who I can’t even care to remember his name, brings a blade up, only to have an arrow in his shoulder in the next moment.
