“Love you too Teo. Be good and leave Gabriella alone. She has a paper she’s working on. Don’t make me beat your ass again.”

He scoffed, as he kissed my forehead again. He didn’t even reply to me, but I knew that he would leave her be.

I walked out of the house ready to get some food and wait for my baby to text me. I smiled at that.

The guy or should I say the guys that Cassie was meeting up with weren’t bad, but I was not feeling this one. I rolled my eyes once more as Cassie giggled at the fuckboy in front of us. When would she ever learn?

I sighed as I checked my phone but nothing yet. I figured Carson’s phone was probably dead. I decided to just eat and be good for Cassie’s sake even though this imbecile by me wanted to get cussed out in both Italian and English. He wasn’t unattractive and I think that was his problem.

“So, where did you say you’re going to again? College wise of course.” Rob said.

I tried not to scowl as I dipped a fry in ketchup before aggressively biting into it.

“I didn’t, “I replied. “Look,” I turned to face him as we sat in a spacious booth yet Cassie and her dude, Jake were practically cuddling. “Rob? Can I call you Robert? Honestly, I don’t care about your answer. I’m not interested. I just came for Cassie.”

Rob had the nerve to laugh,

“how can you not be interested? It’s me. Rob Mackey.”

Was I supposed to know that or give a fuck? Before I could shrivel up his balls and have him crying to mommy, a voice I knew too well got my attention.

“Who the fuck are you and why are you breathin’?”

I turned and came face to face with Carson. He looked good. He looked freshly showered. His hair had that wet look to it as he had it in a ponytail, he wore a black hoodie, faded blue jeans, and sneakers.

“Hi baby,” I perked up not able to hold my smile back.

For a minute, he didn’t take his eyes off Rob but then he made eye contact with me. He was pissed. I stood not caring about anything but the safety of Rob. I didn’t care for Rob, but I had seen Carson fight and it was not going to go well for pretty ugly personality boy Rob.

“Cassie? I’ll call you okay?”

She nodded.

“Okay. Be careful and call me.” She eyed Carson as if he were a monster.

“What the fuck does that even mean?” He asked Cassie.

I had to distract him. He would never hurt Cassie with his fists but as a southernly gentleman, as he was, Carson had no problem putting you in your place with his harsh tongue.

“I missed you today, Carson. Did you miss me as much as I missed you?” I said as I slipped my hand into his.

He glanced my way,

“you know I always miss you more, darlin’. Now,” he stated as he faced Cassie, and I knew he was about to cuss her out.

“Are you hungry, Bubba?” I distracted him.

He turned my way, nodding.

“I am.”

I tugged at his hoodie,

“What do you want to eat?” I asked.

That angry expression morphed into something else. Before I could do or say anything, he cupped my face in his hands and leaned in kissing me. When Carson kissed me, it was like I forgot the world around us existed. He was everything to me and even though, that could be a problem, I didn’t see it like that. I only saw him. After a moment, he pulled away then that hungry expression filled his eyes once more as he took me in. His amber eyes met mine again as he spoke,
