Leighton twisted her lips but said nothing. "Fine. Only for you."
I sighed with relief. Getting Lee to do things was like pulling teeth with your hands. That Scorpio came out of her with everything she did. We ate in silence for a while, and I was ready to get the second part of my night done. It burned a hole through me as I tried to find the right way to go about it. If I didn't do this, I was going to lose my cool in a good way.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
I nodded curtly, knowing I was nervous. "The server brought out a platter for you."
She lifted a brow and leaned back in her seat. "For me?"
I smiled. "Yes, it's for you. They should have said something, but yeah for you."
The perplexed look on her face deepened as she eyed me and covered dome. "What is it?"
I laughed and shrugged. "How am I to know? That's something you'll have to figure out on your own."
As much as I wanted to lift the dome for her because I got impatient, I waited.
She slowly reached out her hand and lifted the dome from the plate. Her eyes widened before her hand flew to her mouth.
"A'Mylo," she whispered as her eyes bounced from me to the covered dome that sat in the middle of the table. "What is this?"
I smiled as I wiped my hands with a napkin. My heart was bursting with happiness right now. "What does it look like?"
It was time I got out of my seat to face her, but I wanted her to tell me what she saw. That was the only way I'd continue.
"It's a ring box, and I want to know why?" Tears misted her eyes. "No way you're being serious."
I chuckled. "I am, baby. You know I don't half-step when I do anything. Why do you think I brought you here? This is a romantic place, and the vibe here is all about love. And as you know, I love you with all of me, which will never change. I'mtrying to make sure that it doesn't. As a team, we'd have to be willing to make this work between us. Are you down to do that?"
Leighton nodded as a tear slipped out of her eyes. "I'll do anything that'll make this relationship work. I love you so much, A'Mylo, and being your wife would make me very happy."
I smirked and stood up, getting the black ring box from the plate. I opened it and walked around to her side of the table. "I'm happy to hear that, baby." Getting down on one knee, I grasped one of her hands and stared deeply into her eyes. "Since I met you, I knew you'd be mine. While I searched for my dream home, I had already found the woman of my dreams. I love you wholeheartedly, Leighton Myles. Will you marry me?"
She nodded with a smile. "Yes, I'll marry you, Mylo. I love you so much."
I stood up, and she did too. We embraced and shared a kiss as applause and congratulations went out.
She held my face in her hands and laughed. "You're so sneaky."
I laughed. "Nah, I just know how to be secretive when it counts."
Lee leaned forward, and our lips touched again. Her presence always gave me joy, but tonight it had me over the moon. My heart sang with praise as I held my fiancée in my arms.
I pulled back and gazed into her eyes. "We'll take this to go. I need you, baby."
She smiled brightly. "I was thinking the same thing."
After I waved down a server, we packed up all the food. All along, Leighton kept a smile on her face. That was what I wanted to see. I came on this vacation with my girlfriend, and tomorrow, I will go back home with my fiancée. Man, life wastrulygood.
One Year Later...
"You may now kiss your bride."
A'Mylo wasted no time pulling me into his arms and giving me a kiss that left my panties soaked. He knew he shouldn't have done that, knowing I got extra wet now that I was pregnant. I had a feeling he did that on purpose. That man found any excuse to have me bent over or even lying on my side. Even if we had to get a quickie in on our lunch break, he'd do that too. I was currently five months pregnant, and he hadn't let up yet. Sometimes I had to hide from him. He could go all day if I let him.
"Let her breathe, son!" his father yelled out, causing the church to laugh.
I pulled my lips from his and giggled.
