"I love you too. Don't try falling asleep just yet. I need you again."
"Oh, trust me. You don't have to worry about it. Let me rest up, and I'll be ready for you again."
God made this woman just for me. I had a feeling she was going to be my wife. The way Leighton matched me wasunbelievable. I'd never get tired of spending time with her or just being with her. I felt content.
I wasin love and couldn't imagine being any happier than I was at that moment. A'Mylo Stewart had brought joy to my life that I didn't know I needed. We were in a good place, and I wanted to stay there. The man was great all around. For so long, I craved this, and now that I had it, I didn't know how to act. I wanted to keep this type of happiness forever. He made me feel special. We celebrated my birthday two weeks ago, and Thanksgiving just passed. I spent it with him and his family. His daughter was also there, and she stayed by my side. I loved her and enjoyed spending time with her when she was with A'Mylo on the weekends.
"Here you go in your head. What are you thinking about now?"
I smiled, reaching for my cup of coffee and took a sip before putting it back down. We were at Creme Cafe Coffee for breakfast before work. It was going to be hard leaving him to go to work, but it made it easy knowing he'd be at work too. My man looked sexy in his jumpsuit. I called it the Michael Myers suit. He hated it when I did that, but I couldn't seem to help myself. It was funny getting him upset.
"I'm thinking about us and our time together," I admitted.
He smiled, showing all his teeth. "I do that too. Do you have any plans after work?"
I shook my head. "I don't."
He nodded with a chuckle. "You do now. Let's chill later. I don't know what I want to do just yet, but we can do something."
I opened my mouth to comment back to him, but his phone rang, cutting me off. I picked up my coffee and took sips of it while he answered the phone.
"Good morning, baby girl... You don't want to go to school, but you have to, Nini. How about I pick you up later, and you can chill with Lee and me?"
I could hear Nini screaming, her excitement in the background causing me to smile. She was my baby girl, too, and I couldn't wait to see her.
He sighed in aggravation. "Put your mama on the phone, then."
I almost rolled my eyes, but I thought better of it. I didn't want him to see my dislike of the woman.
"What? You have something to do with her... Damn it, man. Just let her know we can do something another time then..." Mylo hung up the phone, and one of his muscles in his jaw twitched. I could feel the disappointment rolling off of him.
I bet Nya was only doing that because she didn't want Ni'Asia hanging with me. She did the same thing last week. I had afeeling she didn't want her daughter around me since I had put her in her place a while back.
"I have a feeling why Nya doesn't want Nini to go," I stated, looking at him.
He lifted his eyes to meet mine with a scowl on his face. I'd hardly ever seen A'Mylo as mad as he was, and I must admit I didn't like the look on his face.
"Nya is just being a bitch is all. It's all good. I'm still going to get my daughter. Damn her." He pushed his half-eaten bagel away from him.
I bit down on my bottom lip, knowing it was now or never that I shared with him what happened with Nya and me. "I need to tell you something." I started.
He lifted his cold eyes to me. "What is it?"
"Nya came to my job to see me a while back," I blurted.
Mylo's eyes widened before they narrowed. "Come again? A while back? How long is that?" He was firing questions at me.
"It's been a little over a month. She came to my office, trying to warn me about you."
Mylo leaned forward, face screwed up into an angry expression. His fists were balled up as he eyed me with his nose flaring. I had never seen this look on his face before. "Warn you? What did she say? Did she threaten you?"
I shook my head wildly. "No, no, it was nothing like that." I exhaled before telling him all the things Nya had said. "It doesn't matter to me what she said since I knew she was only jealous of what we have."
A'Mylo shook his head with a scoff. "I feel you should have told me the minute it happened."
I nodded in agreement with my heart throbbing in my chest. "Yes, you're so right, I should've. I tried once, but I kept forgetting about it. Then, when I tried telling you, we'd jumpto another conversation." I felt like I had let him down by not telling him what had happened.
He leaned up with a hint of anger in his eyes. "Has she tried contacting you again or something?"
