“Yeah… don’t keep us waiting.” Amalee pressed.
Everyone was eager to see what the future of the new kingdom was. The children would be the heirs to a new rule. One that fostered peace and unity throughout the nation.
“I have two sons and a daughter.”
Dimitra covered her mouth to stifle a gasp, “You’re in so much trouble.” She laughed, “When can we meet the future of our new kingdom?”
“New kingdom?” Anthony furrowed his brow.
“Well, as long as Rory agrees to our plan, yes. A new kingdom. Now… answer the question. I’d like to hold the future Ruby Queen, heir to the Elemental Kingdom.”
Without light, there is darkness.
Without life, there is death.
Six queens knit together the essences of all living things. Together, they will dawn a new day.
Together they will rise no matter what.
Epilogue
Six months later…
Dimitra paced the small room. Her stomach was in knots. She hadn’t been feeling well, and a part of her feared she had permanent damage from the battle with Helix all those months ago.
Sarifena was sitting in the chair beside her, “I don’t know why you didn’t just have Jason come with you.”
“Because… if it’s something bad, I need time to process the news.”
“You’re overreacting. You’re not dying.”
Sarifena rubbed her belly. The life she’d created was finally showing. Dimitra was happy for her, hell she was happy for everyone. It appeared something had been in the water, and now Emersyn and Amalee were expecting as well. They were due two months after Sarifena.
“Dimitra,” Heath stepped in and shut the door. He leaned down and kissed his wife, resting his hand on her swollen abdomen.
“Heath… just tell me. Am I dying?”
Sarifena snorted, “hypochondriac.”
Dimitra flipped her off as she sat down.
“No. You’re not dying.” He laughed, “But I am starting to wonder if there was, in fact, something in the water a few months ago. Dimitra, you’re pregnant.”
Dimitra froze. His words made no sense to her, “What did you say?”
“I said… you’re pregnant.”
“Pregnant.”
“Yes… about eight weeks along. It looks like I’m going to need some extra help, seeing as the five of you are expecting.”
“Wait,” Sarifena sat up in her chair straighter, “You said five.”
“Shit…” Heath rubbed his head, “I wasn’t supposed to say anything, yet.”
“Onika is pregnant as well?” Dimitra’s mouth hung open.
“Yes, about eight weeks like you. But please let her tell you. I don’t need her mad at me.”
