“We can also take Banana to Central Park where you can run around with him,” Lana adds.

“Yay!” Addy sings and Banana barks. He’s been sitting at her feet all night, waiting for her to drop food. Addy totally snuck him bites of her chicken.

Mylan, still confused, darts his head back and forth between everyone. It’s only when Lana whispers in his ear that his face transforms from surprised to understanding to that annoying smirk he does when he likes to tease. The same one he gave me at the table read when he prodded me about smiling at Savannah’s texts.

Everyone sticks around to chat well after dinner. Eloise and Kelly are flying to Europe this fall for a slew of gigs. Lana and Savannah make a list of touristy things to do while she’s here. I am absolutely not jealous that I can’t join them either.

Okay, just a little jealous.

By nine, it’s time for everyone to leave since Mylan and I have a five a.m. call time.

Eloise and Kelly retreat to their guest room, assuring me they’ll have their own place soon. I tell them no rush, but I’m sure they’re more than ready for privacy. They’ve been apartment hunting and have narrowed it down to two places: one in Brooklyn and one in Chelsea. Mylan and Lana head back to their hotel in Midtown.

After I put Adeline to bed, I return to the kitchen to find Savannah cleaning up.

Her back is to me, rinsing off dishes to load into the dishwasher. She’s humming a song I don’t recognize, nodding to the beat in her head, and swaying those delectable hips of hers.

I creep up behind her and slide my hands around her midsection, prepared to kiss her neck when her head rears back and slams into my chin.

I grunt and grab my face, pain knifing through my jaw. Then I start coughing. Damn. Did she knock the air out of me too?

“Reynold! Oh my God! I am so sorry.”

“That’s the second time you’ve clocked me in the jaw.”

She rushes to my side and inspects my injury, scowling. “Yeah, well, you shouldn’t walk up on unsuspecting women like that.”

She finds a frozen steak in the freezer, wraps it in a paper towel, and gently places it on my injury.

“I thought it’d be sexy, not scary,” I whine.

Her face softens and a tiny smile breaks through, easing the adrenaline likely pumping through her body.

I wrap my hand around her wrist and lower the steak from my jaw.

“Tell me why you kissed me earlier. You’ve been avoiding me for days. What changed your mind?”

“Because I like you, Reynold Michael Kane,” she says.

I suck in a breath at her saying my full name. It sounds like a song coming from her mouth.

“I haven’t felt this way about anyone. Not even my ex. I think that’s what spooked me. To have this overwhelming need for someone who you barely know. Then when we went from kissing to...” She bites her lip instead of finishing the sentence and I wonder if she’s remembering what it felt like to have my finger up her arse. “I talked to Lana about it, and she convinced me to give it a try.”

I lean in, my mouth close enough that I can smell the wine from dinner on her lips.

“And what exactly isityou want to try?”

Pink paints her cheeks in the most beautiful shade. “Whatever you want.”

I lean my head on hers, refraining from kissing her because if I start, I won’t want to stop and I have to be on set in seven hours.

I’ll need more time for the things I want to do to this woman.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

There’s a hint of hesitation in her voice.
