When he drove past the diner, he didn’t see Mila’s car and it deflated him a little.

She was mad at him and he didn’t know why. He wanted to find out what made her upset, but if she wasn’t at work, then he would have to wait.

He got to the edge of town and gave a two fingered wave to Brek in his cruiser.

Brek grinned at him and flashed his lights at him.

Reid laughed and kept driving to the next town over.

He was going down the main street and saw a little Italian restaurant there.

His stomach started to growl, and he pulled into the parking lot, intending on ordering some food to take home when he saw a familiar face in the window.

Mila was in the restaurant with another man. She was dressed in a beautiful black dress that had red cherries in the pattern.

Her hair was twisted into a style on the back of her head and she was smiling at the man sitting across from her.

Reid could feel a growl build in his chest, and he saw in shades of red.

He got out of his truck and walked into the building and when the hostess tried to stop him, smiling up at him, he stopped and blinked down at her, “Hello sir, can we get you a table? Or anything?”

He heard the suggestion in her tone, and he shook his head and jerked his hand away from her hand that was trying to touch him, “Nope. Just here to get my girl.”

She raised her eyebrow, and he walked past, not wanting to hear anything else she said.

He walked to Mila’s table and when she looked up at him, she did a double take, “Reid, what are you doing here? How did you get here? Where is your sling?”

He didn’t answer any of her questions, just picked her up out of her chair and slung her over his good shoulder, grunting through the pain of his bad one.

She was so startled she didn’t do a single thing and when the man that she was with stood, and started protesting it, Reid glared at him, “If you don’t want a black eye and a bloody nose, I suggest you take a step back.”

“Reid! Put me down!!! You're going to hurt yourself.”

Reid just ignored the pleas and the man and walked from the restaurant and then put Mila in the front of his truck.

Her eyes were flashing fire at him and she was practically spitting with her anger when she said, “What are you doing? I need to get back in there.”

Reid shut her door after buckling her in and then hurried to the driver’s side, “You aren’t going back in there with him.” He said with a growl.

“You can’t just do this. You probably hurt your shoulder.”

It did sting and throb, but the pain was nothing compared to taking her from her date.

“You were on a date? I thought I made it perfectly clear that you are mine. And yet, the first second you can, you're out on a date?”

She crossed her arms over her chest as he backed out of the spot. “I wasn’t on a date!”

He scoffed, “What do you call that then?”

He gestured the best he could toward the restaurant, and she threw up her hands, “Dinner! With my cousin…”

He looked over at her, “Oh. Uh, well then. I, um, I guess I can take you back then.”

She crossed her arms again, “Yes, you probably should. I don’t want to be around you anyway.”

He felt his eyebrows pull down, “Why? What did I do? I went to bed last night with you in my arms and wanted nothing more than to claim you this morning, but you slipped out like you were ashamed to be there.”

She looked out the window, “I heard you on the phone. The conversation that you had with your and I quote, ‘Sweetheart’. You lied to me. You said you have never been in a relationship, but you were.”
