Chapter 22

Trace

That night they danced, laughed and had the best time with their family and friends surrounding them.

And he loved every single moment. Because he had his wife at his side.

She had barely left him and had pulled him with her, introducing him to people who had come from her old town and letting him show her off to people from his.

Trace had laughed when he saw how Reid watched Mila like he had never seen a woman before in his life.

He had to bite his lip to keep from laughing because Reid had to be dragged away for his meds because he had overdone it and was now sagging with weariness and when Mila saw this, had hurried to his side to help in any way, which made Reid grin like a loon.

He was so tired he was slurring his words and said, “Hey gorgeous. You want to help me with the problem I am having on my pants?”

Ailith heard this and was mad as a hornet and Mila had gone red.

“Reid Connal Collins! I don’t care if you are exhausted and hurting, you don’t talk to a woman like that!”

Reid grinned over at his mom, his weariness evident in his eyes, “Sorry ma. I really meant that I dropped some cake on my pants. And I still can’t clean it up.”

Sure enough, with his arm in the sling still, Reid couldn’t reach the mess of cake on his pants well.

In fact, he had made it worse by trying to rub it away.

He looked at Mila, “I'm sorry gorgeous. I would never talk to you like that.”

She nodded slowly and helped Ailith bring him into the house and Grace helped as well. They had a room set up for him since Grandma Viv’s house was full of people and with the older maid they kept on staff, they knew Reid was in good hands.

Trace felt for Reid. He truly did. The man was out of it, and Emery had told him that Reid wasn’t a guy that dated.

He didn’t like the games girls played and hadn’t found a woman yet that had turned his head.

Just as Trace had said earlier. And now that he had seen Mila? He knew that was going to change it all for Reid.

Kian was also following Karalee around. Although at a distance. When he found out that Brek was walking Karalee down the aisle he was less than pleased and the only thing that made him okay with it was the fact that Brek was married and head over heels in love with his wife.

So Kian had let it go. But had made Trace get him to sit next to her at the table which had made Karalee blush and barely speak to him or acknowledge him in any way.

He knew that Kian was struggling with that. And felt for the guy.

He was his new brother and had massively screwed up where Karalee was concerned.

But he knew Kian had it in him. Karalee was working with Mila at the cafe now and Kian went in every day.

Trace knew because Kian would moan and groan about her still not speaking to him and that he was going to have to resort to drastic measures.

Trace couldn’t wait for her to put him through the ringer.

Emery tugged his hand and he looked down at her, making the thoughts he had vanish.

She looked like a vision in her white dress that hugged her like it was made only for her and he wanted nothing more than to ravish her thoroughly while she was still wearing that white dress.

He leaned down to kiss her and looked around, people were eating and laughing and they still needed to cut the cake, but he didn’t want to wait another second, so he pulled her away from the crowd of people and back to the room where he had gotten ready in earlier.

She was breathless when he pulled her inside and her panting was causing her breasts to lift a little higher in her dress.

He pushed her against the door and kissed her, trying to do his best to not put his hands in her hair like he normally would.
